Read more newspapers!!!

Featured Replies

Hehe......in our today's german lesson our german teacher said that we should start to read a serious newspaper.....maybe everyday...

Ok....people at my age should do it...I don't know why I never did...

But maybe this is one of the reasons why I'm often confused in discussions....

I mean if you read more newspapers or if you at least watch the news on TV....you can better get an opinion about it than before...

So...I decided to try some serious...german newspapers....yes...I'll do that!

So I bought one...I hope I manage to read it...

BTW: why do I tell you this?Actually we all know it that it is better to be informed than not to be informed....

What about you?Are you infromed about the important things that happen in the world?Or about cultural, sports, science etc news?

Man......shame on myself that I'm most of the time not a detailed informed person!

How old are you? newspapers are interesting, but be careful which ones you read...even though most are biased!

I get all my news from TV, radio and the net. Who needs papers??;)

well....I'm 18...and I know that newspapers sometimes are very subjective....but I think this is the same with all media.....the ideal is if you read maybe newpapers from 2 political sides...one which is more right and the other one which is more left orientated....I think so you can form a view about the things better!

same here... I don't read newspapers that often, to be honest. only our local news [kaff news, if you like, mark...] because these are the ones I don't get on tv or the radio... as I listen to music basically the whole day, I listen to the radio quite often, so that's my major news source...

i dont really read them:rolleyes:

Newspapers in the UK are so desperate for readers they have to give CDs and DVDs away every week!!

Well then you should definitely be reading papers...but never believe them, make up your own mind once you've read all you can about a certain issue

Then you'd be reading newspapers all day long, which would be a complete waste of time!!;)

Haha.....that's my aim....I think....Ok....never believe them...I think I will also believe a bit of what they write....otherwise it is not worth the money...

They're not!!:)

Newspapers are only out to get money, that's why some don't have any proper news in them and plus each paper is written in connection with a certain political party!

Only out to get money?

Well...I think they give more information than TV or radio news...

True - and most of them are crammed with celebrity stories and photos!!

well....then I don't know what the newspapers in UK are like but our teacher recommended some newspapers....serious ones...and there are not many pictures included!

he told us that the one I bought now is right orientated....

How do you know tv and radio give more and better news if you don't read newspapers?

And the page 3 *coughs*

In German newspapers not only page three!!:P

Sounds like a hippy!!:P

I think he was a bit like that in former times...

So has he now had all his hair shaved off?? Or has it disappeared??:P

Julia, what newspaper did you bought? The "Zeit"? ;)

Well... it's true, that you can have your news in the net, on tv or the radio, but I don't have any of them at work, so I usually read my little newspaper during breakfast, my other breaks or simply during work :laugh3:

But I have to admit, that the newspaper could be the best medium to me - it might be "slow", but it's the best compromise between diversification and extensive content. :)
