I don't do much DIY myself, but as a houseowner I know one day I might have to dabble. There was this geezer who removed a wall to create an extension, unfortunately it made most of his house collapse

Wow... I've never heard of a DIY job that went that badly... I guess that's why they say that demolition is the main thing you should never do without proffesional advice at the least.

 

I've heard the occasional story of people falling off their roof while shoveling snow off of it because they were afraid the heavy snowfall would make the roof collapse.

Before clicking the link to this thread I immediately assumed you'd had plastic surgery that went horribly wrong :P
