Given the quality of some B-Sides, it's not hard to imagine that a few of them maybe belong on the original album. Question is, which one? So I propose a nice little discussion.

 

Take a B-Side from each album, and replace one of the album tracks with it. What would YOUR choices be?

 

Should be interesting to see responses, no?

 

My picks:

 

Parachutes - "For You" replaces "High Speed". I'd like to see "For You" at the end, but "Everything's Not Lost" is just too good.

AROBTTH - "I Ran Away" replaces "A Whisper". Not my favorite Rush B Sides, but it would fit nicely into that point in the album.

X&Y - "Things I Don't Understand" replaces "Square One". "Things is just a better song, IMO.

i used to love i ran away, but you can't sing along to it so i started liking other songs more

I can think of only one B-side that deserved to be on an album and that's See You Soon

I Ran Away replaces a Whisper for sure. I can't stand A Whisper but I Ran Away is one of my favourite Coldplay songs of all time.

nothing needs to be changed on ROBTTH its perfect as it is

Gravity replaces The Hardest Part. And stick Sleeping Sun in for good measure!

Here is my two cents:

 

parachutes - bigger stronger for sparks

 

arobtth - see you soon for green eyes (2nd worst CP song)

 

x&y - how you see the world for the hardest part (worst CP song)

 

Every other song is perfect for each album...especially A Whisper which is so underappreciated!!!!

The World Turned Upside Down, I Ran Away, and Crests Of Waves all belong on their afiliated albums.
