Audio cd ripping!

Featured Replies

So I've bought myself a cd with a cd protection thing.

Seems it won't let me rip the cd, or even listen to it in any other way other than thru some flash player.

I have the right to make myself bloody mp3's, I've paid for the damn thing.

Any suggestions how to rip it?

Try iTunes, that normally works though most 'protected' cds.

CDs are usually only protected from Windows. If you have a Mac or have a friend that has one you can rip it no problem.

Try these programs, they should be able to do the work:

Exact Audio Copy: Here!

or

CloneCD: Here!

Or if all else fails and you live within the UK, compain to the office of fair trading.

Meh I've tried several cd rippers, and I get a choppy song, It' also won't play on any media player, except the flash player that automaticly loads.

If it loads onto your computer without you saying "I agree" to a pop-up, and stays on the computer when you remove the cd, you have a case under the computer misuse act 1990 (revised 2006)* that the computer illegally put software onto your computer without knowledge.

*assuming that you live within the UK and the revised act has been put into practise.
