Are you healthy?

Featured Replies

Well... I saw a thread about health on another forum and I've decided to make one here, hehe.

Would you call yourself healthy? Why/Why not, blah blah blah...

Well, if you're looking to be healthy, just be the complete opposite of me.

I'm lazy, I have high cholesterol and I'm a borderline diabetic at 15 (well, not as much as a few years ago), I eat junk food a lot, I'm overweight (I think you can guess), I eat at a fast food restaurant at least 2 times a week... because..... there's freaking 7 of them within walking distance of my school, I have myasthenia gravis, jaw problems, and hormonal imbalances, and.... neurological disorders, diabetes, heart problems, and cancer run from both sides of my family.

Yeah... I'm pretty unhealthly. :laugh3: Though this gives me an image of a 300-pound kid sitting on a couch eating icecream, I don't look that unhealthy, haha.

I'm Healthy,I eat right and visit the gym 6 times a week, and do some running in the mornings...and daily weight training...:smug:

no, you don't. (look unhealthy)

Number one: Do you mind all these problems?

But still. Just because there are tons of fast food joints...doesn't mean a human can't have self control. If you don't mind...DYING early...then k...shrug it off.

another thing...maybe once you start studying to be a doctor (cuz you've mentioned it) you will realize...acutally :laugh4: I see nurses and doctors around the Houston area a BUNCH...and they are always eating at junky places!

anyway

to me! :smug2:

I consider myself pretty healthy. At least the things I can help...heart problems and cancer run on both sides of my family.

Let's seeee  I excercise...if not daily (schedule is hard to mix) every other day I either: run, play soccer, work-out some parts, or climb. Sometimes, you can catch

me doin some Billy Blank videos (Tae-bo   )

cuz he's

I eat regular food and go out to eat ... twice a month....but to work I usually eat some pasta that I bring from home...or a hamwhich

yeah hamwhich...you read it right buddy

I do like to snack which is something I would like to cut down on...but it's not extremely bad. Are Gardetos unhealthy!? :cry2:

don't drink soft-drinks unless people offer me some at their house and I am a guest or something and their water happens to look rusty :laugh2:

uhhhhmmm I don't LIKE to excercise...but once I get going, it's hard to stop. That advice goes for everyone ...well I do like to climb, but that is not "typical" excercise!

not me, i eat chocolate n junk/fast food sometimes:dozey:

Not at all! I never exercise and I eat sooooooooooooooooooo much chocolate, ice cream and nachos it's not even funny.

On the flip side, I skip meals when I've been eating too much junk food so am not getting all the nutrients I need so whilst I might eat all this crap I'm underweight.

So basically my body is full of crap and I can't run further than my drive way without falling over.

I know I should do something about it. Join a gym, eat healthy meals three times a day, cut down on alcohol, walk to the local shops instead of driving and get my 5 portions of fruit and veg. But I just can't be bothered :dozey:

Heh. The lunch thing is a big problem--all (I mean ALL) of my friends go out to eat every freaking day. Being someone that doesn't really like to be alone, I go with them... bah. And leaving them and staying on campus and getting one of 'dem crappy lunches from the cafeteria would be seen as "ditching" my friends. I need to pack my own lunch and bring it along. :idea2:

Uh, and I don't mind dying early. :uhoh: Yeah, it's stupid, but I dread getting old... but I know everyone else will mind if I die early, which makes me care... well, technically, that means I do mind dying early... whatever.

and, by your description, you sound very healthly. :)

:laugh4: while that (up there...mimis comment  ) should not be funny, you made some humerous remarks... that bad? get the mail and pass out!?

that is really really Bad!

1: skipping out on meals for whatever reason

2: eating junk and no normal stuff

3: not excercising...

i am not a freak about it..but peoples! there must be SOME balance.

take baby steps or something if you mind

One thing I wish was different in my diet is that my mom cooks magical mexican food that the mom spreads magic good taste potion on and I can't keep away from it. Guilt makes me excercise it off...but still. I feel bad when I eat it...and heavy

:cry2:

but I am a good 115-120 lbs. (fluctuates between that amount) and (about) 5' 2''

Am I the only healthy one here apart from crystal??

oh boy :laugh3:

you should

no prolllly not...there are only like, three people around here now!?

Haha I don't really pass out going to my doorstep. I just mean I haven't much stamina. Also I have a job which is physically demanding...so I am moving about throughout the day.

I know it's bad, I do eat meals too, don't get me wrong...I just skip them if I've eaten loads the day before.

You've all scared me now :worried:

Well...it's true. I knew what you meant. I am sure you eat regular stuff. But skippin is like snuffin and snuffin is huffin ....and huffin is :uhoh:

well look:

Don't skip em - the meals ( i know you might not take the advice...yes yes...i Do remember I am in a Coldplay messageboard! )

it makes your body all weird and you could develop sicknesses over time.

Reality: It's only the idea of changing your lifestyle/diets ...that is difficult. Getting started is all you need, then the rest...it's easy!

i feel healthy...

not so much fast food ( twice a month), I like to eat, but not too much, but well!

otherwise, at least 2 hours of tennis in the weekend and i feel good!

Due to the physical nature of his job, The Faceman pretty much has to remain fit and healthy. His one vice? Alcohol I'm afraid, although he is gradually cutting it out of his diet. Remember diet has a lot to do with fitness, if one wishes to remain fighting fit then fizzy drinks and junk food are a big no no. Crisps however are allowed, I don't know what I'd do without my daily Space Raiders intake.

i think i'm relatively healthy...

i go to the jym 3 times a week (try to anyways) and i hardly ever get ill. I actually cant remember the last time i got sick.

I do have a problem with the food though. I eat like a cow- i mean just for lunch today i had two peices of lasange and some pizza. Lucky for me I dont really gain much weight, but i think i will come to an age where everything i eat will show (since i'm still 18 my metabolism is still pretty good). But i have gained some weight.

I bet that in a few years time i'll be twice my weight if i dont get myself toghether. Then i wont be healthy.........

i'm not healthy at all ...

i only do sports at school (PE lessons, damn i hate them) ...

though i haven't gone out to a fast food restaurant for about a month now because they all hiked their fuckin prices and it's way too expensive for a poor student like me ... ;)

but i think i'm a little pverweight maybe 5 pounds ... gotta lose some weight ...

it's not that i can eat everything without gaining weight (i don't like such people :dozey: )

but i loooove food.

i stopped eating so much junk food a while ago. i just don't like the taste of sugar anymore. however ... i'm still addicted to chocolate :)

but i also eat a lot of apples, pineapples and melons ... think it's a good alternative for sweets sometimes ;)

the problem is fruits can be just as fattening as some sweets, maybe even more.

They're like eating spoons of natural suger.

I LOVE GRAPES!!!

nope ... fruits don't have any point when you consider that weight watchers programmes ... except for bananas

no... they do. As far as I know you're limited to something like 3 fruits a day. Vegtables you can eat without limit.

I run a lot (today I did a half-marathon).

I have never smoked or taken drugs.

My eating could probably be better, but could definitely be a lot worse. I've only visited a fast food restaurant once in the last year.

I drink almost no alcohol - I can't stand the taste of it, generally, except for champagne for some unknown reason.

I have a sweet tooth - that's my "weakness" (I love chocolate).

However, I have managed to get into the habit of putting honey in my tea (thanks to my visits to Canada).

I'm not a sun worshipper.

I stick to "natural" medication wherever possible.

no... they do. As far as I know you're limited to something like 3 fruits a day. Vegtables you can eat without limit.

Can't be. The recommended daily fruit intake is five portions.;)

I run approximatley 5 miles 3 times a week, visit the gym every other night and don't smoke. Drugs are a big no, no, at one point I was a cocaine addict. Mr T got me through it with his inner-city outreach programme, I've been clean and healthy for years. Now I work with underpriviledged kids in the ghetto whilst rescuing dolphins from Japanese fisherman during the weekend.

I exist outside the realms of Health.

heh, but seriously...I don't go in for any of this new-age, healthy-eating bullshit. Probably because I'm a depressive with a deathwish and want to have a heart attack by the time I'm 40, but never mind that.

On the other hand, I play tennis 3 times a week (most weeks) and therefore get a fair bit of exercise. Enough to stop my legs falling off anyway.

Also I'm lucky in that I have no allergies or inherent illnesses, etc, and am naturally skinny. I couldn't put on any weight if I tried. bwaha

Edit: Oh, and I've never smoked, and don't drink much.

ok i dunno...

that's just what i remember.

But i forgot about alcohol... I ont drink alot- like every other week and not alot. But i do smoke hookas alot (which actually tastes good unlike cigarretes.)

I think I'm pretty unhealthy lol...

I can eat loads of everything and won't gain a pound for some reason. :nice:

So I have no physical motivation to eat healthy stuff or do some sports. So I usually end up in some Burger Kings and Pizza-cardboxes and alcohol is also quite common these days. :drunk:

My doctor once told me, I should start to do some sport because of my high blood pressure :\ Maybe I'll start running again one day, but currently I don't feel really motivated (might probably change after my first heart attack lol)
