Something a friend said to me today...

"coldplay makes me forget pain or feeling

like a plane of existence"

I whole-heartedly agree with her. Coldplay have the uncanny ability to make people feel like they aren't alone. To make them feel as if the song that they;re listening to was written about them.

Whenever I have a trying day or get in a bad fight with my mom or am just generally down, I always turn on some Coldplay, no matter who else I may be listening to at the time. Like lately I've been listening to nothing but Radiohead, but today I was feeling pretty down bacuse of a friend who's in the hospitol and I've been listening to nothing but Coldplay all day.

My sister, who hardly ever listens to Coldplay regularly, has been listening to them religiously lately due to events in her life.

Do you feel the same? Has Coldplay's music helped you through tough times? What do you think it is about Coldplay songs that make them so comforting and relatable for millions of people?

I don't know what is it about their songs, they just lift me up when I'm down. Whenever I feel crap I just play one of their CDs and it really helps alot. Thats one of the reasons I love them.

definately have gotten me through tough times. their songs seem to remind me that even in the hardest times there is hope... and that everything's not lost hehe :)

ohh ohhh me too :D, I think we all feel that way, Coldplay helps me escape all the bullsh#t that goes on in life....go into my own lil world lol :nice:

yeah that's all right....

When I feel sad, just the word Coldplay makes me smile!!!

When I listen to one of their songs, I shiver of pleasure....!

I just have to close my eyes to see chris' lips saying the words!!!!

I'm crazy about them!!!!!!

From the Isle of Wight Festival brouchure...

They might just be, you know. And not without just reason. Coldplay do something nobody else can: they write huge songs that touch you intimately; they create massive, soaring edifices of sound that can feel like a whisper in your ear; they can build you up to the point where you’re flying, and then with a chord change - send you crashing back down again. They write music that can inspire you to change your life, and that’s the rarest trick of all.

But you know what else? It’s not only the walls of sound, the rising melodies and colossal rhythms, Coldplay also write songs that make you want to laught and cry and sing along; they write songs that make you want to - whisper it - dance.

he chance to see them headline Sunday night at the Isle of Wight Festival is the kind of experience you’ll be telling the grandchildren about one day.

really powerfull!!

when i have a bad day and i dont know what to do....i just listen Coldplay...i feel like in a different world....n a friend told me that when she heard Coldplay she thought this is real?...n i just laugh because the lyrics are sooooo strong a powerfull that every song is for a perfect moment n a perfect place....is really hard 2 describe somethings every word of the song....one of my favorites is Amsterdam...i love that song!!

It helped me today. Out of all the songs in my music library, I always go to the Coldplay section when I'm feeling low. I was actually depressed for kind of a stupid reason... 'cause I read a sad book, but I turned on In My Place and whoo! I was back to normal.

I have nothing to add. I agree to all that has already been said.

There's good music, there's great music...and then there's Coldplay!!! :)

I'd hope this isn't the only reason people would listen to Coldplay now. I generally listen to them no matter what mood I'm in. But I hope that they don't get the reputation of being an Agony Aunt in music.

I think it's wonderful that people are finding comfort in their music when times are low, I'm just saying, I'd suspect people listen to Coldplay for all sorts of reasons :)

(no offense meant, really!)
