Incentives

I was trying to come up with a thread that related to my current situation, and I finally found one. My grandpa's in town visiting, and he bought tons of stuff, including a TV for my room. We were talking yesterday during dinner and I mentioned my wish to go to the UK for my graduation. He's used to saying lots of things just for the hell of it, but this time was for real.

He said: 'I'll go with you on a tour through Europe, we'll set it up when you come to Mar del Plata (where he lives) for winter holidays (that was a surprise too), but you have to promise me that you'll do your best to lose some weight. Just diet a bit, jog, play some sports and we'll be ready to go'

My mom had offered stuff to make me want to diet, yet I'd never felt the need to do so. But now, considering I have a reason (other than looking better), I'm gonna do it. My motives might seem wrong, but I don't give a shit, I'm going to England.

So, have you ever been given an incentive to get you to do something?? Did you do it?

First of all. A man who lives in a place called "Mar de Plata" (silver sea) ...MUST be a kick ass old man.

Second of all, yes. Once - I was grounded for a month from seeing my boyfiend and friends. But she told me if I woke up every morning at 7:30 ... for one week, and went jogging...then it would be less than a month that i had the grounding.

I said yes, and did it. Eaaassssyyy :dozey:

She is a major excercise nut and diet person. Those are the things that make her happy. I didn't NEED the excercise or anything, it was just the type of thing her type would do.

Hell yes, do it and you're on your way to England. I am preeetty sure someone is getting jyped in that deal you have...and it's not you

then I am preeettty sure you are kick ass too

He sounds cool. My grandparents from my mom's side are poor ass folk who don't know english.

But my dad's people are loaded lawyers and architects

So, what exactly are you going to be doing? Taking a jog everyday?

Yep, my mom does it so I'm going with her. Besides I'm gonna cut all the crap I eat....... nah,not all of it but most. I have to lose a couple of pounds before July 24th, which is the date I'm going on winter holidays

WHen you get dead tired of jogging all the time...just think to yourself how wonderful it will be to NOT jog around in England.

No seriously.

When I run now, I dislike it. BUt I just think how wonderful a nice long shower sounds, or the nice things I will do after the run.

Nice thoughts while doing boring, possible tough things will make it alright.

YOur nice thoughts will be of England

Of course.

Whenever I joined a gym I would think about how wonderful I'd look if I didn't have my belly (though it's a part of me and I love it) and I were able to fit into skinny girls clothes (though I hate them right now), and it really got me through the whole thing.

:wink3: so ya wanna be a skinny?

Right now, the only thing I have left to work on (belly's okay, thighs are alright, no more "love" handles) are my calves and arms...they need a bit more toning.

IT is good to have incentives sometimes...when available. BUt other times the only things that will serve as incentives are gonna me mind made..and not grandpa given or things like that. Right now, for example, money keeps me working and waking up in the morning.

i understand about being fit and all. no one likes an anorixic girl anyway and I am sure you don't wanna be one :wacky:

anorexic girls do not have curves like we do,nor breasts like we do.

skinnes get the rip-offs :laugh4:

that goes for the bums too :wink3:

Oi I have boobs and a bum.

I think that it's a great offer though...as long as you're sensible about it. :idea2:

Hahha...yeah I have done many things like that....for example...

every year at easter there is a running-race in our village.....I'm not the fittest in running....but last year i said to my dad..."aww...I also want to take part in it"

He said "Ok if you'll do this you get something....."(I can't remember what it was...).....after that day he wanted me to start the training ...but I didn't...I said it is to cold and things like that...

so the year passed really fast....and I even wrote this "contract" down on a sheet of paper...so that my dad won't forget it...

actually I forgot about this...

Until the day my dad called me from work..

He said:"Oh Julia...do you want to know what I've just found?" (it was short before eatser...)

I said:"Hmm...no I bet you will tell me now!2

"I found this "contract" with the race..."

In my mind I was like......:uhoh:Ohhhh noooo.....

After that I told him I don't care anymore.....my dad was really disappointed about me...

lalalallala...

and I had many situations like that....

I think I made it in 20% of the cases...

I'm a loser baaabyyy!:shifty:
