I will tell you somthing

If Saddam really have a WMD Bush was never thinking attack Iraq, so why he didn't attack Iran or N.Korea

I will tell you why, because they have

Bush didn't even talked with Saddam like Iran or N.Korea.He directly attacked as he was waiting a chance

Because saddam was weaker and considered more of a threat then north korea, and attacking iran would have been much harder.

So intel not wrong as you said before:sneaky:

i believe the intel not to be comptetely wrong, ig; saddam moved wmds out of iraq, i believe that is likely. but alot of the intel and possibly all of it was wrong

Lets place the shoe on the other foot for a moment... what if there was a camp like this in the middle east for American or allied troops.... and we were dehumanized as these 'captives' are being treated..... what then?

I'm not saying they should close it or keep it open.... I'm just posing the question...

if they were treated like the people being treated by us i wouldnt care that much. of course i'd want them back, but i'd be happy to know they werent in much trouble.

thats the whole controversy and why people want it closed... look at those pictures.... does it look like those guys are being treated with much dignity???

their prisoners, the fact of being a prisoner takes away alot of dignity. but as far as everything esle they arent that badly treated.

You are actaully living in The O.C aren't you?

Look, I've heard from people who were kept there....they have talked about the things that went on and it's disgusting......then these british citizens were let go...having done nothing wrong......

It's a hell hole of torture to humans without any charge against them...

The birtish guys who were there were caught in Afganistan just after the bombings started.... They were on a trip there from Pakistan where a friend was getting married..

They were repeatedly called Al Qaeda for months in an attempt to get a false submission and admission on tape.....

It's a place in which criminal acts are carried out - which would never would happen if the prison was based in the US mainland........

Don't be so idiotic.

but you have totally flipped my question... (hypothetical question) ---If they had US or Allied soldiers as prisoners... in a camp like Guantanamo... and they were being treated as we are treating the prisoners currently there... (which is what the hoopla is about) How would you feel???

Good question:thumbsup:

Nick will just dodge the question.

and you'll just sit there and be asshole. go away if you're not going to contribute to these debates. you're a weasle who has nothing to add to this.

i just answered it. i would be mad BUT i would be mad no matter what if they werent free. BUT i'd realize they arent being treated badly or killed and i would want them in that type of camp if they were going to be in prison camp. i'd prefer them not to be in a prison camp, but if they had to be i wouldnt be that mad about them being in that one, seeing as how they wouldnt be treated that bad.

Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black.

^ this right here is what the debate is all about... this is why some want the detention camp closed.... because of the "alleged inhumane conditions in which these 'prisoners' are being kept."

...so, now answer the my question...

i answered your question. i would prefer to have our soldiers in a camp like that compared to just about any other prison camp in the world. the people there arent badly treated...nothing wrong with it at all.

*slaps forehead*

you're impossible...

My hypothetical question was what if there was a camp like this one... in another part of the world... for example the middle east.... and there were reports of soldiers being badly ttreated... just as there are reports of prisoners being badly treated at Gitmo... (remember.. this is all hypothetical) ---then how would you feel...

you keep comparing the camp to be Gitmo.... and the right way to treat them... but that wasn't my question...... you have to imagine the US soldiers being dehumilitized..... and tortured...

IF they were being mistreated i'd be pissed if it was true. but that has nothing to do with gitmo.

Guantanamo prison sends 14 Saudis home

450 prisoners remain in facility that opened during Afghan war

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fourteen Saudi Arabians were released on Saturday from the detention center at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and transferred to their home country, the Pentagon said.

One was released because U.S. officials determined the prisoner was no longer an enemy combatant.

The designation of enemy combatant means the suspect can be held without charges in a military prison without the protections of the U.S. criminal justice system, such as the right to counsel.

The other Saudis were released after an administrative review process determined they could be transferred.

The releases bring to 310 the number of detainees who have departed Guantanamo to other governments, including Albania, Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Kuwait, Morocco, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden and Uganda.

About 450 detainees remain at Guantanamo, including 120 who are considered eligible for transfer or release. Decisions in those cases depend on discussions between the United States and other nations.

The U.S. began using the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in eastern Cuba in January 2002 to hold people suspected of links to al-Qaeda or the Taliban.

Defense officials said they expect the transfer or releases to continue. In mid-May, a group of 15 Saudis were released and transferred back home.

The detention of Saudis at Guantanamo has been an irritant in the otherwise improving relationship between the Bush administration and the Saudi kingdom. Those relations have helped U.S. officials track and stop terrorism since the attacks of September 11, 2001. Most of the 19 hijackers were Saudi.

Some 759 people have been held over the years at Guantanamo, according to Defense Department documents released to The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

Of those, 136 have been Saudis, making them the second-largest contingent of Guantanamo prisoners, behind onlyAfghans, at 218.

President Bush, on a trip to Europe this past week as part of his attendance at a European Union summit, was greeted with thousands of people protesting the Guantanamo Bay facility in several countries.

The prison -- established in 2002 to house suspected al Qaeda and Taliban operatives captured in Afghanistan and elsewhere -- comes under persistent criticism in Europe.
