That was my first Coldplay concert, and it won't be my last. I am never taking my general admission armband off my wrist. Even if i can't bathe ever again. I was right up the front, on the right, could see everything.

Tip for all: to get to the front, pretend you are meeting someone at the front. Look towards and point to your imaginary friend. If anyone is in doubt of you, a quick "there he is," or, "up there," will have you in the clear. Then when you reach the front and everyone realises, give them a big grin and put onyour bowler hat.

My only regret iss I didn't bring a camera or audio recorder. Damn.

Shouldn't this be in the Coldplay live section?

But anyway, sounds like you had a great time! And I'm sure other people took cameras, so no doubt you will find some photos or videos to remember your night!

(nice idea to get in the front!)

That's awesome. :smug:

Man, I gotta use that.

WOW! That concert was my first too. I had pretty cruddy seats but I still see fine, I took heaps of video and photos so I'll post them when I get home. :)

ha! i never believe people who use that excuse.. :P

"my 60 yr old grandma is in the front and shes all by herself. i have to get to her!"

pft. WHATEVA! that was actually something a girl (with her 5 friends) said to me and everyone around me one time.. we were all like.. ok nice try girlie. she eventually gave up. and gave her friends a look like "this isnt gonna work.."

It looked like it would have been hard to not get seen with a camera- there were bald guys in black shirts everywhere!

There were signs in the foyer stating that cameras were not allowed inside the arena .. but they didn't say anything about cameras in mobile phones. It was quite amusing looking down on the general admission area .. there were so many of these tiny screens lit up, it became part of the show lol. It was a great night!

Highlights for me:

great versions of great songs - chris just doesn't stop moving - chris was in fine voice - chris running up into the audience - the yellow balloons (yes i know) - the lasers - "can't get you out of my head" - the band were tight!

Lowlights for me:

Youth Group are ok but played too long - the long wait between support & Coldplay - the acoustics of the arena are borderline - I know it's been done to death, but I would have liked to have heard "Don't Panic" - the show was a little short, but heck, I'd go again in an instant!

Damn this computer, i cant post any of hte pics for some reason!!! Does anyone else have any??? :)

no! youth group are amazing. i wish they'd played for hours longer. but ill agree that the wait is too long. they take so long to set up, and if youre standing on the floor lik i was, its just boring.

I thought Youth Group played too long aswell. I wanted to go get some mercho during the wait but I was to afraid they would end and I would miss th3 beginning of Coldplay.....so I sent my sister to do it and they still hadnt finished!! Anyway it was well worth the wait. The show for me was longer than expected.

That was the concert I went to!!! It was my first live Coldplay experience, and was it a good one or what!!! I was one person away from the barrier, in between Chris and Jonny....dream come true! And I didnt have a camera with me, damn! I would have got some awesome pictures, oh well....next time hey...I can't wait to see them again!

wished i got the disposable cameras they threw. :(

here is a vid of the acoustic part of the concert where they did a tribute to the late johnny cash with their rendition of 'ring of fire'.

its real short though.

some comments:

1) i loved that the crowd sang along to almost ALL the songs!

i know i was.i went with my sister and we were clapping and singing.had a blast.

2) chris did mention loadsa times that the crowd singing was fantastic didnt he?the GA section was great.how were the other sections, did everyone get on their feet and sing at the seated area?

i read some other threads and some said the crowd on their nights (im not sure which state) werent very enthusiastic. what a bummer.

3) chris:'we wouldn't have heard of melbourne without kylie'

chris is so cute!lplus their rendition of 'cant get u outta my head was fantastic.it was SOOO FUN singing and clapping along!lalalalalalalala...

i wanted to buy the band tee after the concert but it was sold out. :(

most importantly,i hope that everyone else who went to this show (2nd of july) enjoyed it as much as i did.IT WAS AWESOME!its my first concert ever and i reckon it'll be the best.

cant wait for the dvd to be released.

THANKYOUUUUU! They are so much better than the ones I got. hehehe I got 2 tees...:)

AWESOME PICS!! Especially coz i can see me in them!!! Well, not well coz im short, but the point is I can still see me in them lol!! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, a night of awesomeness!

Yea I went to that night! I was on the right, front row.

Remember when Chris was singing to a member of the audience in the beginning of Talk? That was me!!!!

I swear, when he started singing to me my brain shut down; I completely forgot all the lyrics and thought "Do not drop this gaze!!!!!". He has eyes like Hugh Laurie. Not that I've ever met Hugh Laurie, but you know. It was hot.

That was you!?!? Lucky duck!!! I remember being so jealous of that person wishing it was me, hehe. :)

my pleasure!

and i agree.its the best.night.ever.:D

I'm uploading some pretty crappy videos I shot from there up to YouTube at the moment so you can check out or whatever if ya want! Theyre not that great but theyre better than nothing. :D
