Frings out of Semi

Frings out of semi

Tuesday, 4 July 2006 @ 5:57 AM

Germany will have to do without midfielder Torsten Frings for its semi-final against Italy after FIFA suspended him for a post-match altercation with Argentina's Julio Cruz.

Frings had been cited on video evidence after a review of the post-match fracas which erupted after Germany put Argentina out of the tournament on penalties. Two Argentine players, Maxi Rodrigues and Leondro Cufre, also face sanctions for the melee.

A FIFA statement said Frings was given a two-match ban, with the second match suspended dependent on good behaviour over the next six months. It means he will be able to play if Germany gets through to the final.

"You always lose"? Do some research before you say something like that! It's true that the Germans haven't beaten Italy in a World Cup yet, but

a) they haven't played THAT often against each other in a WC

b) they've beaten them before OUTSIDE of the WC

c) this time, the WC is held in Germany, that's a big plus

d) who says that statistics prove everything? There's always a first time ;)

Oh i read they reacted that way cos they were teased after the game so yeah understandable if its true.

I'm still happy yay!

Hehe....I don't have a problem with you being happy:wink:

I'm also happy and still proud...
