Don't you just love the British accent?

Featured Replies

I love it (I love England...that's a fact!).

But...copycats are not appreciated. I don't like when someone's trying to sound English...that's stupid.

yes, i don't like it either! it annoys me when i realise it's fake

I'm a total sucker for accents. Especially British and Irish ones. My favorite is Glasgow- to my untrained ear, at least, it sounds like a mix of all the most interesting parts of both Scottish and Irish accents.

I love Belfast ones too- I spent some time there, and got so used to them it sounded weird when I went home. The strangest was when some guys from Dublin came up to visit the people I was staying with, and the local girls were laughing like crazy every time the guys said anything. I couldn't understand what on earth was going on. Finally one of the girls explained that the guys were talking in fake Belfast accents and it sounded funny. I honestly couldn't tell the difference! :stunned:
