Featured Replies

anyone else dying to hear some new coldplay stuff? i know they've been on tour and all, but X&Y's been out forever. they never say anything about it, except the rare occasion, and then chris just says "it's going to be the greatest album ever." something's gotta get released...soon.

It hasn't really been out "forever." Just a little over a year.

I really wanna hear new songs... I have been listening the same songs for a long time...hehe

i think the new album is comming...

Ooo....can't wait....I hope we don't have to wait as long as we did for X&Y....but Chris does need some home/family time (infact - they all do) and they probably want a break of touring...cos, if they release an album, they gotta tour for it fairly soon after it's release...otherwise not as many people would go to their shows.

But I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

We need to start getting articles and stuff in here now...so we can hear more news of it...and get proof of what is to come...

I've read a really good article of Chris talking about the next album...oo, gives me goosebumbs when I think of how good it'll be...."the best ever"...."better than the Beatles".....o joy......

Coldplay, you better not dissappoint....but we all know they won't.

- (I'd post a link for the article, but I can't remember where it was from)...:)

yeah i hope so too that the new album is soon. but i'd rather a really good album than a rushed album.

i swear when i play X&Y i remember the first time i got it, the Cd still feels fresh to me. i would love to hear new music but i want them to take their time so they even makes a better record than X&Y which would be a classic

from a selfish point of view, i want the new album NOW. im dying to hear new stuff, partially because of all the stuff thats been said, i cant imagine what itll be like. i crave new coldplay material like no other.

but of course, the guys need a break. they must be exhausted. they need some home time and some break time. and if its going to make the album better, i hope they take as much time as they need. however, im counting on that "itch" that coldplay says they have, and almost all musicians have, to get back into the studio. i hope they take like 4 or 5 months off, then go back in the studio and produce an album by the end of 2007 (since they take such a looong time in the studio- didnt they take 10 months for X&Y?). the end of 2007 seems like such an obscenely long time away to me, but late 2007-early 2008 seems like a fair and likely time frame in my mind. i think chris was just being cheeky chris and trying to get the reporters off his back when he said the 25-year thing. it seems to me that we'll definfitely have on by the end of 2008.

god, that seems like forever!! i want one noooooow!

I miss them... I hope they'll be back soon... but not TOO soon... They need to make a break... COLDPLAY WE LOOOVEE YOU :p

No they don't make a break, i want them back in holland ! So i can go for the first time to a concert of them :)

I hope it will be a great album, not too much country music as they said.

Chris also said, that it would be a dark and heavy album without piano's... but well they have to put piano's in it !! And not to dark and heavy come on ! :D I want the Coldplay sound :)

^Agreed. They need pianos. ITS CHRIS! ;)

2008??? That's a long time away! I'll be 17! I'll almost be finished with high school! OMG! Well, they derserve a break so we'll just have to be patient. But I hope their "itch" to go back in the studio will help them speed up the process a little. But not TOO much! We want quality music!!!:P

What if they invent jet packs in 2008, and when the album comes out, there's a music player on the jet pack that only plays Coldplay? At really loud volumes so you can hear it over the sounds of being propelled in the air by flame?

I found this at Wikipedia (trustworthy?)

"

In an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Chris Martin hinted that Coldplay's next album may be a "fast, dark and heavy" affair "with no pianos." [4] Band manager David Holmes suggested that the band may record a new album between their tour schedule over the new year: "They're definitely hungry to get back in the studio to make another record; they've got a lot of material. So for next year we're looking at building a tour around their recording schedule. Ultimately it could potentially mean we end up releasing another record next year (2006) and continuing to tour well into '07."

There are speculations that the band will get to the studio soon to record new material. "We just love being creative," bassist Guy Berryman said. "When we're out on the road, it's amazing to play live but we're really missing what we do best, which is creating. We've been together for almost ten years now and we've only made three albums." Speaking to BBC 6 Music, he added: "When you look at people like The Beatles who knocked out a couple a year, it sort of makes us start to panic a little bit. So we're just desperate to get back into the studio."

Coldplay have said that footage of two live shows in Toronto from their Twisted Logic Tour will be released later this year on DVD. Five fans got the chance to film the show themselves and will have the footage included as part of the release.

However, at a press conference in Australia before their tour, Chris Martin said that they won't release another album until they've recorded "the best songs in the world", and then went on to say that it would take a very long time."

I think that explains it...

i'm all for the guys taking some time off...that's fair...i just hope that they're thinking about a new album as much as we all are!!

the guys are totally exhausted.

they definitely should take some rest and then return to the studio (as fast as tehy can; hahaha!).

they can take as much time as they want in my opinion, as long as the new record will be the greatest piece of music ever.... better than Parachutes, AROBTTH and X & Y together
