fender thinline tele

Featured Replies

i bought a squier thinline standard tele a few months ago for around 400 bucks. what do you guys think of this guitar and the price? i don't seem to hear much about this model....

what do you mean real one

squire is fender's budget line. The Fender Thinline is the real deal.

basically wat kapone is saying is that squires suck!!!you would be better of spending a little more money on a decent guitar.

yeah i find this to be the problem, people start getting hung up on names...i figured if its still made by fender, do they really give a shit about how they make it in relation to a "REAL" fender? for me i'd say hell no, but they know there are suckers out there that will pay the extra little cash for that name...and it all adds up, for them

They aren't suckers, they are people who avoid cheap wood, dull pick-ups, lousy sound, bad componants, shitty build and clumsy wiring. Also, when you have a name on your guitar, its easy to sell for a good price. You buy a squire if your a beginner or the budgets tight. When your a kid and you can go and buy a whole package; guitar, case, strings etc then its perfect but not any time after that. Plus they're all made in the far east these days. So, no its not getting hung up on names, you get a fuck load more. To sum up, they are a pile of shite.

You obviously have no clue about guitars...

so you're saying if buckland played on a squier thinline tele he would sound like "shite"??? just because it has faulty wiring, cheap wood or dull pick ups? no effin way

uh... kinda... yeah. i think they sound aweful.

squiers really suck. they're cheap and go out of tune on the higher frets and such. bought myself a real tele a few days ago.

have you played a squier thinline tele i assume?

wth my first guitar was a squier and squier doesnt suck!!!

there very good guitars for the price if you go for the standard series.

I think they sound as good as a fender "standard" guitar for less money.

So in my opinion Squier is the best brand to start with .

and also the fender thinline has wide range pick ups and i can see any squier who has that.

So now i'm happy with my fender thinline , but i rememberd that i bought a epiphone for 700euro's and i liked to played 10 times more with my squier because it played so good.

So what did i do selled 2 my squier en epiphone and bought an thinline.

Yes, thats what I'm saying, because its true. Thats the reason Jonny plays good quality guitars. Just because you own something, it doesn't make it faultless. The squire is a cheap range of guitars and if you knew anything about guitars, you would recognise that.

have you played a squier thinline tele i assume?

not the thinline tele, but many squier teles at guitar center.

i snagged a standard fender tele from my friend for $200. :smug:

I seen the squier thinlines, and the reviews for them were quite good. Most people take the Squier name as crap, but the thinline model had a few impressive specs like the Seymour Duncan pickups.

I might be picking up a 72 tele thinline used this weekend for a little over $400. Both models are used, but look to be in good condition. Hopefully if they feel and sound good, i'll get one. I can't wait!

Squires are shit... most of these people saying they arent dont own real guitars. And oh robins have you ever owned a high quality guitar? Im not talking about going to Guitar Center and olging over one you cant have. Have you owned one? I doubt it because you wouldent have bought the squire if you had. And whys that? Because you would then realize that its shit. This whole discussion is dumb as hell.

thank you improvision!!!finally someone has sense!!!

well i think the discussion end point would be

1) Squier are VERY GOOD guitars for there PRICE!!

So if you don't have monster budget like many people this guitar is it.

2) Yeah offcourse if you have a vintage guitar of 5000$ you could also say that the mex thinline would play like crap . So it's normal that a more expensive guitar is better.

Voila

so fender is better than squier but only if you look further then the cheapest fender guitars.

Jesus Christ! :stunned: If your happy with it, that's all it counts. They are just saying you could have gotten a better guitar the money. Good luck with it!

i know, my squier sounds fantastic....

Sort of... if your happy with it just because thats all you've got thats nice... but how do others you play for like it? Because after all isint that why we all play except for the 20% that play guitar for pleasure? My point is just trust me when I say that if you piad that much money for a Squire you fucked up big time. A little more would have made a world of a difference.

There is nothing to argue about. The FACT is that Fender guitars are better quality than Squires.

P.S. I own a squire

well as i look the the topic starte .

I would just say squier nice beginner guitars 4OO $ to much altough its one of master series

So i don't know anything about it .

the fender standard series cost here about 5OO euro and i think squier would beat them for the price
