For english I have to do a persuasive language editorial about a controversial issue, it can be on a global scale or even on local scale. I deiceded to the make trade fair campaign, do you think this is ok to do as a controversial issue?

im going to talk about the cause, some statistics, how you can help etc but i was wondering what i should say (and how much i should say) about coldplay and their role in the campaign? what would you do? I'm trying not to compleltly concentrate on coldplay in the article but its hard not to (lol:laugh3: ), but because they do so much to do with it and have promoted it heaps.

if you have any information about coldplay's role and just general stuff to do with mtf that would be great!

please help I dont want to go overboard with talking about coldplay but still want to get the messge of how they have helped.

 

also i was gunna stick a picture of the band and somthing to do with mtf (like it written on chris's hand or somthing) do you think thats ok?

Well I think it's an interesting idea, surely it is, I would say, go on with that, but just make sure you don't harp on Coldplay:) ...focus in the main goal to achieve and the main issue to talk about. I don't have info about Coldplay role in the campaing, but I can say to you that if you want to mention Coldplay (including sticking a picture or someting, as you said) I don't see how you couldn't do it. I would do.:)

So my advice is, talk about the MTF thing and mention Coldplay, maybe there are fans in your class that will enjoy your good work.

(you could use a representative song of theirs to help you, like Politik...what'cha think?)

thanks! I'm gunna try really hard to stay focused on mtf and not all coldplay!

the only thing is that it has to be a written assignment and I dont get to read or show it to the class, so any fans wouldnt be able to enjoy! Im pretty sure it has to be like a newpaper article (thats what an editioral is I believe) so I thought i'd stick a picture in there like most newspapers would.

the song lyrics is good idea to show their beliefs on the topic so thanks for that i didnt even think of it!

 

by the way Im not sure how long it has to be but I would expext no less than 1 page and no more than 3 if anyone was wondering on how in depth it should be.

i guess the main contrversial point of your article would be that coldplay supports this issue maybe you to gain popularity, i guess this could also could lead to talk about other celebrities and their relations to campaigns.

 

just a quick thought

^ yeah, i think you shouldn't focus on coldplay but start off with what MTF is then branch off about the popularity of the general public, then talk about how it has been further popularised by ----- and list a whole bunch of celebrities but just ellaborate on coldplay as an example of how celebrities get involved and then suggest possible ways to help MTF.

(and, if you didn't know what MTF before coldplay made it mean something to you, you can add that in to say "even i now know about MTF because of coldplay, and so many more know about this issue because of ....." etc)

Thank you:) . im off to start it now yeah ill find a way to subtly slip coldplay in there and tell of how even now i and many more know of mtf cause of them and give statistics of how many people have signed the petetion since coldplay have been publisizing it.
