Life Is For Living

2000 Miles

A Ghost

Brothers & Sisters

Murder

Twisted Logic

well, i thought there was more than that. but whatever. if i missed any let me know. :)

BUT ANYWAYS! 6/8 time is the shiz. the end. :stunned: :D

I can't say I know what it is but with all those songs it must be good! ;)

what is it. :\ (not really that good at music...but learning)

it's a different time signature, since you're new at music, you are probably familiar with 4/4 time.

4/4 time means that the measures have four counts, and that a quarter note gets the beat.

6/8 time means there is six beats in a measure, and an eight note gets the beat, thus resulting in a faster paced music usually.

sorry if that doesn't make sense, buts that's my best way at explaining it for you.

^^ All depends if you're a musician or not, and how well you understand your instrument.

Is this thread for 3/4 time appreciation too?

A Whisper? :D

^Same here

Yay. :D :D

any other muso's on here who write songs in 6/8? most of mine are in 6/8 hehe.

I like playing music with 6 beats per measure...come to think of it I enjoy 9 & 12 beat songs too. I'm usually not the best at picking up rythms right away, so I use a trick my piano teacher taught me - I try to "speak" the words of the music in time before I play them. It helps a lot when you have an idea of how the beats go before you dive in and try to play them.

songs just sound better when in 6/8 or 3/4, and that's a proven fact. well, maybe not the last part...

^ Hehe, oh I'm pretty sure it is a proven fact. ;)
