is it doing anything? how do you know is a trojan and something else?

Download Windows Defender, AdAware, Spy Sweeper, Spyboy Search & Destroy... Spy Sweeper is free unless you want a subscription to it. Mine ran out. All do excellent jobs.

I got on this time last week. It installed a toolbar called "toolbar888". I got spyware doctor and used AGV to delete the viruses in the virus vault.

i'm not sure the free sollution would be the best in this case. downloading/trying too many anti-virus softwares is NO GOOD

 

after removing all the viruses (if you can with suggestions which were listed above), i'd suggest to back-up your data and format the whole system...it will be clean for 100% at least

Mine came from MSN. It was a link so i clicked on it cos it said 'is this you?' and the person who it was off doesn't really know me. Then i got another from another contact who i didn't know. My own fault really so they have been blocked even though it probably wasn't their fault.

thanks everyone.. I will try this AVG you guys recommened... my Norton tells me it is a virus.. then when I remove it... it says its still there. so.... meh, its more of those annoying popups and stuff... :(

Yeah. I tried to delete the files it installed but i couldn't delete them. I managed to get rid of the viruses. But i found if i went into add/Remove programs it was there and i just removed it. Up until last week a week after the virus i was experiencing a lot of pop ups by one company. I aslo found that they installed a search thing where everytime it went on a search engine or a website with a serach engine e.g. google a pop up would appear. Anyhoo i've got rid of them now and hope not to get any more *touches wook*
