It happened on the Upper East Side of Manhattan island.

TV pictures show flames coming out of the high-rise building.

More to follow.

Frightening pictures at the moment. Slovakia-Germany TV-coverage has been interrupted for a short moment because of that...

Remember that Kid who flew a plane into a building in Florida?

It sounds like it was an accident.

No doubt Gareth will come up with some theories saying it was planted by the US governement to keep the american race in a state of panic.

It could be, you never know!, perhaps the dynamte failed this time.

Ok honestly....

A small plane with New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle aboard crashed into a 50-story condominium tower Wednesday on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, killing at least two people and raining flaming debris on sidewalks, authorities said. There was no immediate confirmation Lidle was among the dead.

A law enforcement official in Washington, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Lidle was on the plane. And Federal Aviation Administration records showed the single-engine plane was registered to the athlete, who was a new pilot and had repeatedly assured reporters in recent days that flying was safe.

The crash came just days after the Yankees’ humiliating elimination from the

playoffs.

The official said he did not know whether Lidle was at the controls; two people were aboard, and Lidle’s passport was found at the crash scene, the official said. The plane had issued a distress call before the crash, according to the official.

I've heard of it,too...and I too doubt it was a terroristic act... too small and unimportant for them...IMO

However many people died, it's a tragic accident.

it was a hair rising day as it was.... obviously memories of the first time an 'accident' like this happened came rushin back... but it turned out to be a real accident.

Makes you wonder about the 'security' we have in this place... huh. Nice. Some one was actually allowed to fly that low over one of the most targeted cities in the country, possibly the world!
