Jonny's Amps?

Featured Replies

Does jonny use Hot Rod DeVille 410's or 212's once and for all? I cant figure it out for sure because there both so similar... if anyone has pics or other proof please inform me thanks!

410, the 212 is a rectangle while the 410 is a square. (4 10" speakers compared to 2 12" speakers.)

The difference is like 3 inches or less in height... im asking which one he uses for sure. Id like some proof and not just someones word if possible.

you asked for pics, if there is such a small difference how would pics help you?

If they were from the back you could see if the were 2 or 1 speakers that were viewable at the bottom...

Jonny uses the 410. I was watching a video of a live perfomance pf speed of sound and the camera got a shot and I saw his amp it is in fact a 410 deville

Are you positive? I dont mean to sound like a prude its just that im about to drop 1600 for two amps I want them to be the right one because the only difference between the 410 and 212 is around 3 inches in height and thats basicly not really preceiveable from a front view.

what do you mean, the right ones? are you buying 2 $800 amps just because jonny buckland uses the same setup? have you tried these amps in a store?

Yes ive tried all 3 models of the Hot Rod Series, and yes im buying them to complete a Coldplay rig. And what I mean is that im in no shortage of money but if im going to drop that much for two amps, for that purpose, I want to make sure that their the right ones. I dont want to go out and buy two 410's and later find out that Jonny uses the 212 model. I guess I could just get both but id rather not...

ok, then that makes sense. i'm pretty sure he uses a 410, i know i've read it somewhere, and plus you have a second opinion on that. either way, the 410 is more power. the only problem is that just by having the same amp, you can't sound like jonny without perfect mic placement. mic placement can either ruin or keep your sound.

VERY true, I know this because I had a job working as an FOH Engineer for about the last 6 years.

"JB1" would most likely stand for "Johnny Buckland 1"
