Chris against the planet

Featured Replies

I'm sure if he could go everywhere with an ecologic plane he would do it

I hope that my sentence is corect!

Volcanic eruptions (major) put more chemically mixed gasses into the air then humans ever have combined. Quite frankly, i feel it is a blessing to have these modes of transportation that is so easily accessible...It is amazing really...Fantastic. I think it is great to take care of the environment. We should be responsible for this great planet which God has given us. But these modes of transportation are blessings from God as well. IMO.

Hi,

I don't know if you are aware, but Chris Martin flies at least 100 000 miles in his private jet each year - this corresponds to emitting over 250 times the quantities of carbon dioxide which each of us should emit in order to prevent devastating climate change this century!

Chris Martin claims to care for the poorest people of the planet; however, climate change will affect the poorest people first. This is very hypocrytical and I am very disappointed in how unethical he is!

Anna:(

I agree with you that he is a bit hypocrit because he tell us not to pollute and he pollutes but you must take into account that he have to travel to far distances in few time that's why he should use a jet, if he didn't use a jet he only could move my boat or by train, but it also pollutes, so is not that easy to be a bit more ecologic now, because can we live without electricity for example?... we need energy and unfortunatelly we get energy faster using petrol and it pollutes because is not very easy to get the same energy that a nuclear central produces if we try to get the same energy by other alternative means like sun or wind.

and secondly i disagree that the climate change is produced only by people, i mean in past times the earth had periods of hot temperatures and also of very cold temperatures, actually i saw a report some weeks ago and it said that earth climate changes every 10000 years, so is not caused by us at all, i can accept that we had acelerated that process, may be yes, but we don't cause it, and if it's a natural process then there's nothing we can do, because although people think we are killing earth with all that pollution, earth is live and it provokes earthquakes, volcanoes explosions and all this.

Think about it...

Wow. Coldplay fans put up a pretty sad argument. "What is he supposed to do? Take a boat across the Atlantic?" "How else is he supposed to get here?". They are all missing the point.

The point of the maing post was that Chris flies home to his wife and child between every gig when on tour. While, I might add, the rest of the band hangs out in the touring country. I'm all for family, and if it weren't for the environmental consequences, I would praise him for doing it. Under the circumstances, though, I have to admit that it's a bit excessive.

I know all the other millionaires in the world do that sort of thing and worse, but if he is going to be a self-proclaimed advocate for the environment, then I think he needs to set a better example

since when did Chris become "a self-proclaimed advocate for the environment"

as far as i can see the only social cause coldplay promote is the idea of Fair Trade.

Coldplay fans have argued this numerous times before in the many threads about this. I suggest take a look at those before making statments about fans who have been here a long time and posted in quality threads, and not registering the moment an impulsive thread is made about a negative issue, as you clearly have. We are simply tired about arguing the same things over.
