Christmas customs

Featured Replies

So. Do you have any just Chrismas customs? I mean, what do you do on the Christmas day.

Here goes our customs:

I get up in the morning, go and decorate the Christmas tree. Then my grandmother with my mum prepare meals and sweets. We do the cleaning up. In the evening - between 4-6 pm the whole family goes to the cemetery, to "talk" to our dead relatives. Then we go back home, eat the meal, and then go to the Christmas tree. We unpack the presents and then everyone enjoys his present, and almost the whole family goes to bed.

Maybe you think I'm weird, but the thing, I like about Christmas, isn't the gifts, but that our family goes to the cemetery. It's so amazing.

There you go....

That's the Xmas spirit

Share and be with the family.

I had customs when I was a kid.Now every Xmas is full of operative work in my house, cause we help my mom to make the Xmas dinner.

I miss my child days

Hehe, my personal Christmas custom is similar...

December 24th

- 2pm decorate the Christmas tree

- 3pm eating cakes with relatives

- 5pm unpack the presents underneath the Christmas tree

- 7pm Christmas dinner

- 10pm drinking "Glühwein" etc.

December 25th

- visiting relatives in the afternoon

- celebrate my friend's birthday

December 26th

- visiting relatives in the afternoon

- celebrate another birthday :D

Poor you :)

Anyways, you should add "Vesele Vanoce" to your signature, you see, it's how to say Merry Christmas in Czech. :D

(Although we write Veselé Vánoce, but you can't write those signs:P)

Done! I really hope it's "Merry Christmas" in Czech, otherwise I'll have a problem. But in this case I'll trust you. :D

Really? Cool... I must confess I've been to Prague just for three times or something. You see, I live in another part of the country.

You scare me, Reilly. :stunned:

But they do.

No, they actually do.

We clean up the house and then we put all the decorations up. Then the night before Christmas we clean more then Christmas day we cook and share presents.

Are you actually from Antartica?!

Cool!

OK! Hows Thursday sound?

OK! Hows Thursday sound?

Aw I can't do Thursdays. How about Wednesday?

Should be alright but I'll check my books.

Whats it like living on a big block of ice though? Is it a change from where you lived before (Where was that?)

And what reason does one have for moving to Antarctica!

And I'd love to do it because I need a drastic life change. Maybe when Im 21. How far does money go there?

OK sorry for all the questions but Im incredibly intrigued.

It is definately a change from where I lived which by the way was Australia. It's cold but there is lot's of fun things to do there like fishing and ice skating. I couldn't do any of that stuff at home. Money as we know it doesn't go very far. People tend to trade in goods, mostly fish.

Antarctica really is great. Oh Annie you wanna stop by my igloo for some hot chocolate later? The penguins just delivered a new case for me.

That would be lovely Anna. I'm running a bit short myself. Probably should order some tomorrow.

Annie and Anna from Antarctica.

...Uh, just making a comment.

You got a problem Reilly? Or are we just too cool for you?
