Featured Replies

i got one as a gift a bit ago...cant recall the title. it's kind of nice, but irritating, because it's 95% chris martin, and a 5% blurb on the other three. pics were nice...damn...cant think of the title...

i had two coldplay books, but it all had the same name:Look at the stars...but it's totally different contents.

I have "Nobody Said It Was Easy" and "Look at the Stars". Both of them are pretty good and have some great pictures in them. "Look at the Stars" had a fair amount on all the guys, but it's mostly going to be Chris this and Chris that and and Chris went fucking bonkers when Parachutes was released in the US and Chris dated Gwyneth Paltrow blah blah...

the second and the third one are what i have...

I won the 3rd book there at a street fair. it's pretty good and not totally focused on Chris although most of the pictures are... It's Parachutes/AROBTH Era, and the ending is really sad. Since Gary worked with the band, he did a pretty good job recognizing Guy, Will and Jon, not just Chris.

hummm the only coldplay book the book store I went to was called 'coldplay :when will we be kings?'......hope it's good

Coldplay Books

Let's see, I've got Look At The Stars by: Gary Spivack & Look At The Stars by: Phil O'brien.

Spivack's book is (as previously said) more focused on the overall band members of Coldplay.

It gives a more personal feel and it also has some nice pictures and a bittersweet ending. :)

The Phil O'brien book starts off pretty interesting (as she writes with a very unique spark in her descriptions)

but it gets kinda side-tracked and focuses mainly on Chris and his saunter into the spotlight and stuff.

I've heard of a book called Coldplay: In Our Words by: Kevin Westinberg and the When Will We Be Kings book by: Martin Roach, but have no idea what either are like.

Hope you like the When Will We Be Kings book twistedCLOCKS ;)

If you finish, you wouldn't mind sharing your opinion on it would you . . . . :D :sweatdrop:

Seriously?

I HATED that book. I was so looking forward to it and then when I read it it was an incredible bore. That's just a guy who's totally fascinated by Chris and then blabs on about Chris' (oh yes, the other names are mentioned as well, also spelling isnt checked) success in the U.S. The first radio interview they did in the U.S, the first concert they did there ect ect.

The only interesting thing were those really short passages about the band members and the mention of their fight when they did the EP but the rest is awful. Awful writer as well. Also the mention of 'Politix' all the time greatly annoyed me.

Now seriously, a biography that does not focus all on Chris shouldn't have his quotes on each page and then call Will 'Wil' all the time. Argh.....

If it's a biography how can it have a bittersweet ending? I don't get it lol.

Coldplay Books

^^^^ Hahahaha, yeah The Scientist Man, the BEST Books have to be the tabulature ones (piano, guitar, etc...)! :D Their so full of Coldplay & their music! Better than biographies!

Hmmm.... well, I do see your point, lots of Chris quotes and errors (and yes, everytime I saw "Politik" and "Will" Champion's name spelled wrong, it made me twitch) :annoyed:

But, Chris just happens to be the main focal point of Coldplay, whether he or anyone else likes it or not. So, it's only natural for there to be more stuff on him.

I guess I was comparing this book to the other one (O'brien's) and this one was the better of the two.

The pictures in Spivack's book were nice though....

But I do wish that there was a book that covered each member more equally =

Oh, if you think Spivack's book is a "bore", then you might not like O'brien's book since it basically totally focuses on Chris (perhaps not in the first couple chapters, but later on it is practically ALL Chris and it gets annoyingly full of gossipy stuff, which is . . . . blahhhhh).:blank:

Why can't they?

Eh, everyone has different opinions, but that's what makes the world interesting does it not? ;)

^ I'm just confused as to how it ends sadly if it's based on fact? Nothing too tragic has happened to them has it? I don't understand :(

Oh I see what you mean. :bulb2:

No, no nothing bad happened to them, it was just the author, Gary Spivack, was fired and couldn't really work nearby Coldplay anymore.

That was the "bitter" part, but then Chris said a "sweet" thing, something like "Maybe we'll still get to work together, maybe it's in the stars."

Sorry for the misunderstanding. :sweatdrop:

Oooooh that makes scents now, thanks for clearing it up lol.

Where the heck to you buy these books? I've never seen them for sale anywhere... :\

me neither :(

Well if you guys are from Antarctica, it's going to be a little tough. :shocked2:

I'm guessing you're joking though, right? :D

Hmmm.... well, I got the books online from Amazon.com.

You could try book stores and if they're not there I guess you could ask the cashier/worker people to order it for you! ;)

neither but what ya do is ask the person that works at the book store to look it up for you then they can order it in :)
