Post-Rock Bands

Featured Replies

haha you said bum.

Seems all the new EITS conversation was limited to its thread, but 'take care, take care, take care' is a great album.

As far as recent releases go, there hasn't been much from the 'big' bands since tunnel blanket that I can recall.

The latest mogwai E.P. was bizarre and amusing in a good way.

I have seen a ton of raving over "As True As Troilus" by the new band Farewell Poetry. A mix of GY!BE and usual post-rock fare with the addition of kind-of-creepy female voice overdubs. (They actually have an interesting iphone app based on one of the tracks)

There's also this. A bit obvious and consonant for my taste, but good vibes and quite the sigur-ros influence.

Between them and 'the evpatoria report', Switzerland's doing pretty well on the post-rock front.

on the ambient front, "We will Always Be" by Windy and Carl is the best album I've heard from them like, ever.

between this and the stars of the lid spin-off "A winged victory for the sullen" I've blissed out a few nights this month.

Whooooops.

Tunnel Blanket was extremely different from TWDY's previous releases... ngl, i prefer the previous style.

I've listened to the first two, and that reminds me that I've gotta spend more time listening to The Evpatoria Report. lol

Currently listening to the Windy and Carl video, and it sounds like the best off the three. :wacky:

Thank you soooooo much for the recommendations! You're like the ultimate post-rocker in this forum.
