Guy's bass.

Featured Replies

Hey everyone.

I was just wondering whether anyone has the specific information of what the two basses Guy uses for the Live acts.

I know theyre Fender, and that theyre precision, but does anyone have anymore specifics on the matter - especially on the red one.

Cheers.

I'd like to know too. I'm not a bass expert but I believe there are different types of Precision, made in USA, Mexico, China, but I don't know exactly what the difference between them is. I'm thinking of buying a bass and teaching myself and I was going to get a Precision like Guy's but I think it's going to be quite expensive for me, so a Squier looks like a good alternative. You could try asking Debs for more specifics but she may just refer you to the equipment list on the Coldplay website if she isn't too sure herself.

yeh...hmm, i will ask her.

well, with the precisions...or most types of fenders, American is the best type, then i think Mexico made then Chinese....I'm not sure about the last two, but I do know that the American made ones are made with better stuff....I dnno...but they sure cost more than the other ones.

But yeh, if ne1 has ne info on his basses, that would be good.

All i know about guy's basses is that when i was watching one concert i caught a view of the back of his headstock and he was using one of those low E string detuners. Those things that are built into your lowest tuning peg and you flip the little switch and it drop dunes it. And yea they both are American made Precision basses. I just forget what that thing is called.
