March 16, 200719 yr I'm just curious as to what people believe on here. I'm Christian (protestant, really). But I'm not trying to impose my beliefs onto anyone. I'm just curious is all. Oh, and can we all stay open minded in here? Everyone has the right to their own beliefs. Oh, and no, Jedi isn't a religious belief.
March 16, 200719 yr Oh, and can we all stay open minded in here? Everyone has the right to their own beliefs. Oh, and no, Jedi isn't a religious belief. Sorry, but those two statements together really made me laugh.
March 16, 200719 yr Author We need a certain level of seriousness. I don't think anyone would seriously consider Jedi a religion. Reason I said it is cause on a different forum I go on, a thread on the same subject got taken over by people pretending to be Jedi's and ruining it for the people who actually had something interesting to say about their beliefs. If you can find me a Jedi, I'll take the comment off. :(
March 16, 200719 yr Apparently, there are plenty of people who call themselves jedi on national censuses. The problem is that being a jedi involves the ability to use the force. The force doesn't actually exist. But then, there are people who could and would use that argument against almost any religion.
March 16, 200719 yr I'm a catholic Christian.....but not one of those who go to church every week...I go to church when I feel like it....although this is not so often I still am a believer and respect my belief and church
March 16, 200719 yr Muslim. We don't really practice it at home. But I really believe in it and I try my best to do the necessities of Islam.
March 16, 200719 yr i like this thread somehow because i've got a really weird own way to cope with my religion. i'm a catholic christian. i do not go to worships at all. because i do not need some guy to tell me how to actually worship. i do go to church, though on regular basis. i just sit there and pray and enjoy the silence. it's just being together with one's belief. without god i'd be just lost. i'm really thankful that there's something like "religion" existing. and yeah, perhaps it's because i'm catholic (wasn't raised in a very catholic way, though), but i'm still thinking about staying a virgin until marraige. lol. seriously.
March 16, 200719 yr i'm jewish i have a question. a catholic girl in my school told me she was catholic, not christian. isn't catholisism a type of christianity?
March 16, 200719 yr I'm Roman Catholic. Although I'm not as overly religious as my mom, I still have the beliefs and I pray regularly. Believing in God gives hope to many things for me.
March 16, 200719 yr I'm Christian, but i'm not into any relegious stuff.. At all..no offence to anyone, but it's just not for me. I might go to church once in a year or something if i go to a wedding/funeral/other "party"..some years ago i went to the church on christmas eve though. My family is not a religious one either so i guess that's affects on my way of thinking too
March 16, 200719 yr i'm catholic, but I don't go to church every sunday, not anymore... and I'm a bit confused about the faith.. buet well.. I still believe
March 16, 200719 yr Author My family isn't really religious either, except my grandfather, but he passed a few years ago. For me, that was what made me realise. I was never brought up in a religious way at all (my mother and brothers may believe, but they don't... practise it at all). My grandad was blind from birth and went through a lot of crazy stuff I could never cope with and he was very religious and as was his funeral. You hear about it like, people saying they have moments where they realise what they believe and I think that was the moment for me. Before hand I didn't believe nor disbelieve. That was when I realised that someone is there for everyone, whoever they choose to believe it is. I don't go to church, although I live across the street from one. I might go one day. Soon, next month, next year, I don't know. I've never followed any other ways of believing other than what I have in my head. I pray when I need to and talk to God when I need to also. The reason I started this thread is because we have people on this forum who are from many different places in the world. I mean, a guy at my school asked everyone I know whether they believed in God or not. There was a few agnostics, a lot of athiests, but I was the only one who actually said that I 100% agreed. It shocked me to be honest, but to be fair to them they know I don't shove my beliefs down their throat and they respect that I can have this reason for belief and my belief. I mean, I'm the only guy I know from school or wherever who wears a cross for a reason other than "they look cool".
March 16, 200719 yr yeah, i always wear a cross, too. and not because it's a trend or in fashion. what shocked me was when a muslim friend of mine wants said that she wants to wear a cross, too because it's fashionable. mhh... left me quite confused. her parents wouldn't let her wear one. we often have conversations about religions, my muslim friend and i. and it's so great that we just respect each other's religions.
March 16, 200719 yr I'm agnostic, But I like the idea in Atheism that when you die, you are just dead.
March 17, 200719 yr I guess you could say I'm a Christian, but I don't like going to church. At all. But I do pray regularly. :nice:
March 17, 200719 yr ^ it is. don't get her point. :dozey: Yeah, but a lot of people disagree. You can even go on myspace, and when you pick you know, your religion, there's Catholic, and then Christian is listed seperately.
March 17, 200719 yr Yeah, but a lot of people disagree. You can even go on myspace, and when you pick you know, your religion, there's Catholic, and then Christian is listed seperately. I think I can answer that doubt. There are a diffeence between been Christian and been Catholic. I live in a country were the mayority of the people are Catholic. The main difference I see is that Catholic people believe in a saints and virgin and they also believe in Christ The Christians (the mayority) just believe in Christ. I am Baptist (christian) and I believe in God and in the Bible and as far as I know the Bible do not allow to worship any kind of saints or virgin. So there are a big confusion
