Well i obviously love the music by coldplay, so i joined. thought i could get to know some people who have the same inspiration toward music as i do and most of the music style and feel i like is by coldplay.

well dont mean to go off on a tangent but i would like your opinions on something. recently i decided id try out to preform the scientist by coldplay at my school (im in choir). Awesome song... but I didnt get to do it the way i wanted to, the way it deserved to be played... the choir director at my school (current director that is) is quite the attention hog, control freak, b- word. know what im saying??? i was originally going to put all the feel in it, all the song deserved, and well.. she decides that no, she's gonna play the piano and there would be no drums... i was like are u kidding me? it was my solo though(the director from last year was a great director, one of the people i respect the most. if u got a solo, that was ur time on stage u do what u want. ). i begged her please multiple times to let me do what i had originally planned, but she firsst used the most retarded excuses. then at night of the concert when i asked she threatened that she wouldnt let me do it period if i asked again... so when i preformed i was sick, she played the piano, without the heart or feelings that it had originally or even needed or even deserved. so i tried to make up for it with my voice and band mates. they were mad too. it was such a shame.... next time though. i will be on that piano or no show at all. lol. man it was quite horrible... i want to learn politik, and everythings not lost soon... hmmm

Yes, I can relate to that. It's like they're not aware that music is about emotion and expression, and they only see the mechanics of it. The mechanics are important, but it's also about a state of mind - expressing feelings is apart from the mechanical thinking side, and your current director is not seeing the whole picture (what a shame!). Stand up for yourself - I agree - make it real!

heck yea dude, it wasnt cool what she did... and i cant believe she couldn't see how important it was to me either, or she just didnt care. there was that reason, and i also wanted to impress a girl that i like and she also likes coldplay so i was pretty ticked.. i hope that director gets fired man... she is disliked with a passion by alot of people who are in choir and guitar class with that lady.
