May 23, 200719 yr I tried to promote these guys a few years ago on the board but didn't get much response, but they just finished recording their second album and it is much much much better. You can definitely hear a Muse/Keane/Radiohead influence on some of the new tracks. And they are from my hometown and I personally know 3 of the band members which is pretty cool. Anyways check out their tunes and let me know what you think. http://www.myspace.com/thecontact http://www.thecontactmusic.com
May 23, 200719 yr yay thanks Briggins :) *high five* now.......was wondering if you could please maybe upload 'wake up' for me please cos i know i should buy the album but i can only buy off ebay and there doesn't seem to be any copies for sale :(.......
May 23, 200719 yr Author I don't have a copy of it yet because the album doesn't come out until June, sorry.
May 25, 200719 yr Ah. I wondered what happened to that band, and then someone said they were the contact. I went to highschool with the old bassist... Haven't listened to any of their stuff in ages, so I paid a visit to their website... :stunned: Good grief... I don't remember them ever sounding that good before. They might actually go somewhere with this album.
May 25, 200719 yr 'Major Tom Coming Home' is an 1982 translated cover by Peter Schilling, a German singer. Original songtitle: 'Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst)' Hardly original. They sound like Paloalto though, which is (or was) a pretty good band. Can't say I can compare them to Coldplay, Radiohead or Keane on first listen.
May 26, 200719 yr Author 'Major Tom Coming Home' is an 1982 translated cover by Peter Schilling, a German singer. Original songtitle: 'Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst)' Hardly original. So what, they did a cover. Thats better than doing a cover of a song that a million bands cover like Feeling Good.
June 14, 200719 yr Author It hasn't been released yet. I'm going to their show on Saturday and will get a copy of it then. If I feel generous I may upload a few songs, but not all of them because I know the guys...and well you can pre-order it :) They're not rich rock-stars yet....
