The Beatles stopped touring and only made records. Would you all want Coldplay to do that? I think not. Most of the time spent between records is spent touring. We'll get the damn thing when we get it. Whining from the back seat "are we there yet" will only make Chrissy want to turn this car around and go back home! :laugh3:

My psychic prediction for the day is that the first single will leak around that time.

I don't mind the wait for new albums. They should be allowed to try to perfect their work before they showcase it to us. I'd be far more disappointed if they were pumping out albums of inferior quality every 6 months.

but coldplay is not the beatles......and I dnt think they ever will be close to having the great sounds.......coldplay lacks what the beatles had......and thas the mindset to say ok its time 2 make another album lets stop touring and get back 2 the studio.......yea sure touring is great and gud money........but coldplay has to many venues for me......lol can't keep up I would like it if they would start working on their albums earlier than they do

What I don't understand is how they had a huge list of songs created before they were even done touring, and now its like there is nothing. I understand the process of perfecting a song and the complications involved in producing a huge album like this, but I really feel like they are wasting a whole bunch of time. Did they just ditch the huge song bank they had when touring and start all over again?

 

Regarding the whole "quality" of the music over album release date, that is complete horse shit to me. Even hearing a sample of some of their songs that they almost indefinitely won't include on the album, the quality is incredible. I believe that almost anything they put out would do more than completely satisfy me, as 99.9% of their previous work does. The thing is the band must be completely satisfied with it. And that's a really hard thing to do...be pleased with your own work. And to me, that is justifiable; very frustrating, but justifiable nonetheless.
