Fuck!!

Okay so it's Columbus day weekend, my parents and I decided we would go up to Montreal, canada for a day or two cause we've never been there and all, so we drove there in the morning yesterday, it took SIX (!!) hours and I'm not going to go into too much detail but OUR FUCKING BAGS WERE STOLEN OUT OF OUR FUCKING TRUNK!!! The only thing that was saved was all of my clothes and stuff cause it was all in the front, so nothing of mine was stolen. But my mom had a lot of new, really nice clothes with her, including a pair of chanel boots that had been like her pride and joy for two weeks now and that she can't buy again cause they're from last season. But that doesn't even matter, the worst thing is that my dad's backpack was stolen, which had his LAPTOP, TWO cell phones, camera, A CREDIT CARD, HIS RUSSIAN DRIVER'S LICENSE AND HOUSE KEYS, and a bunch of other valuable stuff!! And the thing is if these people are smart, they can hack into my dad's computer and use his information to steal more or screw up his business (all his work files are on there!!) I mean he has everything backed up on his home computer but if this gets into the wrong hands....!! AND they started using the credit card and took like $300 off! But i think that's been returned because my dad called his bank in Russia and they blocked the card. Thank GOD my dad had our passports in his pocket or I would still be in fucking canada right now!! Anyway we left and drive six hours BACK HOME.

So to sum that up, my mom's pissed cause her clothes are gone, my dad's in really deep shit, and I'm kind of glad that my stuff wasn't stolen, but I'm really angry for my parents! Oh and Montreal SUCKS!!!!!!!!

omg, i'm sorry, anna. isn't there any chance that one of you hacked in your dad's laptop and erase those files? things like that can be done, i think. gosh.... this mustve been a horrible experience... i'm sorry... :(

Thanks guys...Nina I don't know, but my dad's been up all night doing stuff with credit cards, reordering stuff, he also had a pair of plane tickets in there..ahh!

Oh it is indeed very horrible! I'm sorry. :\

Hope something could be done though to help your parents in getting there things back!

Don't know what else really to say.

gah! sounds like a nightmare! but as long as all credit cards are blocked and those plane tickets not used...

i don't know ...

my friend has linux and i have windows and he was able to connect to his computer while he was working here... he like updated the whole system and stuff. perhaps you can try breaking into that laptop.. but i'm not sure if it works when it's turned off...

Hope your dad is OK... sounds bad...

Guess what everyone!! (Update on the story!!)

My dad just got an email from a lady who lives in montreal saying she found the bag with my mom's clothes and a pile of my dad's documents on the street, near where they were stolen! So the laptop, camera, phones, maybe the backpack itself is gone but the theives just chucked my mom's stuff and my dad's important documents.

Haha, now my mom and dad have to drive to Montreal and back again :P Six hours there and six hours back....

I think it might have occured in any city. It depends on where you car was parked. There are depraved areas everywhere and I think when offenders saw your licence plate, they thought American have good money they stole your precious valuables. I can assure you, in Paris, it often happens that tourists are stolen, specially cameras and wallets. Eastern refugees follow them up in the subway and take advantage of the crowd to steal. It can also happen in cars so people shouldn't leave anything on sight (GPS and others). I'm very sorry for you and I hope you'll get your stuff back very quickly. I assume it has spoiled your short vacation, right ?:(

I never leave anything of real value in my car when I park it up.

Thanks everyone..I'm not saying that Montreal is a bad city or anything, I know every single city in the world hs crime, and it has nothing to do with the city itself, but we were just frustrated. And everything I wrote in the first post was kind of a spaz-out, vent sort of thing, so it's nothing personal or anything. But my dad purposely put his backpack into the trunk so it wouldn't get stolen...anyway it's a lesson to us and everyone else that you can never be off your guard, it's better to be safe and check that your car is locked, always lock up your house, use a security system, blah blah blah. It has kind of spoiled our vacation but a big part of it was our fault. We were careless.

pfft gimme canada over america any day besides wtf were u thinkin u shoulda gone to australia :P alot nicer over here :) plus exchange rate would probly be better :P

but that sux that yur stuff got doinkt mehhas any 1 else had this problem?
