November 13, 200718 yr CHRIS MARTIN, MICHAEL STIPE and a host of other huge music stars are taking inspiration from MADONNA by designing their own range of lunchboxes. Her Madgesty was snapped on Monday sporting the humble meal-carrier as a fashion accessory and now a charity is auctioning off a series of one of a kind examples. KANYE WEST, LILY ALLEN, CAT POWER, BEASTIE BOYS and more will join the COLDPLAY and REM frontmen in decorating pails for this year’s Lunchbox Auction – whose proceeds will go to aid hunger relief in New York and South Africa. Designs can be seen at http://www.thelunchboxauction.org/ Lunchboxes created by artists, actors, chefs, musicians, photographers, politicians and fashion designers — from Bill Gates to Bill Clinton to Bono and 150 luminaries in between — were auctioned off in 2005 to highlight the plight of hungry children in New York City and South Africa. The auction was a spectacular success, raising more than a hundred thousand dollars for hunger relief. This year's online auction will kick off on December 6, 2007. Check back soon for further updates. In New York City, 1 in 5 children rely on emergency food. To meet this need, the Food Bank For New York City provides food to more than 1,000 emergency and community food programs throughout the five boroughs. In poverty stricken South Africa the fledgling school programs do not subsidize pre- and high schools, so for many of these children The Lunchbox Fund feeds them their only meal of the day. Many of these children are AIDS orphans running child-headed households.

November 13, 200718 yr I didn't see the one made by coldplay, but from the ones i saw, damm it seems that creativity for music, or acting is completely away from hadcrafting, because the're ones there, that looks like if my 4yr old niece had made them. I'm wondering what Cp had made for this event
November 14, 200718 yr The edge's Lunchbox looks, er....dangerous. Wow, I didn't know that Bono had such creative edge!
November 14, 200718 yr there were some good ones though. Wouldn't it just be great sitting down for lunch at school with The Edge's lunch box.
November 14, 200718 yr Author Bono's lunchbox looks inexpensive.I think he's based it on the Inspi(red)
November 14, 200718 yr The edge's Lunchbox looks, er....dangerous. Wow, I didn't know that Bono had such creative edge!:thinking:I honestly can't think of a better word than "dangerous" to describe The Edge's lunchbox. And I'm pretty sure you left yourself wide open to a U2 pun with the "creative Edge" line.:wink3: I think he's based it on the Inspi(red)Ah... I'd never heard of Inspi(red) until I went to a Halloween party as Bono and it came up in conversation. Ironically, it was brought up because somebody only knew Bono as "the guy who made Inspi(red)." I personally would not want to eat out of Bob Gruen's lunchbox.
November 14, 200718 yr I evidently just double-posted on accident. Is there some way to fix this I'm not aware of?
