An eight-month-old baby boy in Jilin, Northeast China has tipped the scales at over three stone.

Weighing 18.8 kg (41 pounds) and measuring 78 centimeters in height, he was born with a normal birth weight of 3.3 kg (7 pounds 4 oz).

However, he starting putting on extra weight when he was one month old, according to his parents.

His mother nurses him more than 20 times a day because he often feels hungry. Because of his obesity, he is unable to crawl or stand.

lol surely :uhoh: poor baby :( hope that when he begin to walk will lose weight.

That's if he doesn't cause an earthquake first!!:stunned:

seriously.. what does this baby eat.. I mean... the baby should receive some kind of help.. their parents needs to learn some healty habits... if the baby keeps gaining weight it'd be horrible.. not just physical problems.. kids are cruel so he might have some psychological problems too in the future

not just physical problems.. kids are cruel

Well if they are, he'd just have to sit on them and the problem would be solved instantly!!

the article says that they nurse him 20 times a day.. :uhoh: i think that the problem is there... usually babies need to be nursed each 3 hours, like the first couple of months... but seem that instead the normal thing, that is to make the baby get used to the family routine (time to sleep and stuff like that), is the baby who totally controls those things... i hope you understand what i mean

A career in Sumo Wrestling beckons! :o

Strangely enough, I was thinking exactly the same thing........................... :P

Do you reckon he's breastfed??:stunned:

That's certainly what it sounds like.

I have a feeling there's some sort of an underlying medical issue here. This isn't at all a normal sort of thing for a baby. They do get chubby at about that age, and then loose it when they start walking. But nothing like that. A stone is about 14 pounds, right?
