Essential Registration for Glastonbury Festival 2008

Before you’re permitted to buy a ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2008 you must first register online or complete a registration form.

 

Organisers of Glastonbury will continue with the campaign to end touting, by making it essential for potential gig goers to register with the Festival before they are allowed to purchase tickets.

 

Those who want to register are required to supply contact details and a standard passport photo and can only do so in February. Registration begins February 1st from 9am to the February 29th until midnight.

 

Be aware that tickets will feature the photo you submit and if you’re buying for friends or family they will all have to register separately.

 

The next Glastonbury Festival will be held on the weekend of 27th, 28th and 29th June 2008 with tickets on sale 6th April.

 

Located on Worthy Farm, Pilton, Glastonbury is the biggest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world, with a massive 150 000 capacity.

 

Expect music of every genre, from Dance to Jazz to Acoustic to alternative. Past Acts have included Oasis, Paul McCartney, Muse, Coldplay, David Bowie, The White Stripes, Peter Gabriel, New Order, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Primal Scream, Lenny Kravitz, Velvet Underground, the Flaming Lips and Bjork just to name a few.

 

Besides the music and general mayhem, festival goers can watch performances at the famous Green Fields, relax in the teepee field and take in the craziness at Lost Vagueness.

Glastonbury ticket details updated

 

 

The registration period for Glastonbury festival tickets has been extended.

 

Originally fans wishing to attend the annual summer bash were to supposed to register by the end of February.

 

Festival boss Michael Eavis has now prolonged the period until March 14.

 

Only people who have registered will be allowed to apply for tickets when they go on sale at 9am, April 6.

 

This year's event takes place on June 27-29.

 

Kanye West, The Verve, British Sea Power and Solomon Burke are all rumoured to be appearing at the festival.

I still say a fairer system will be to do a ballot.

 

Everybody registers as per normal, but instead of throwing open the doors, they do a ballot, for say 75% of the total tickets which normally go on sale, where the lucky people get 7 days to follow the link and buy tickets, after that time any unclaimed tickets plus 50% of the remaining 25% gets put though another ballot, then another ballot getting rid of the remaining tickets, before putting the remaining tickets which have been unclaimed up for general sale
