Mixing/mastering your covers for free!

Featured Replies

Wan't your cover songs(Coldplay covers only!) made complete?

Let me do it!

I own a little 'homestudio' and gigabytes of software and good hardware.

I can also add strings, guitar, bass, piano lines(those are not for free) by recording them here.

Interested? Send me a private message and we make a deal.

After that you can send me the recorded stuff(seperated files!)

Interesting...my dad has had a studio set set up in our basement for the past few years, he's already come out with a bunch of C.D's(all covers) that he sends out to all his friends. Anyway, I gave him AROBTTH one day and after falling in love with "green eyes" he decided to cover it. It's pretty good if you haven't heard the original, but he'd hate me if I sent out to actual coldplay fans...

I've done some covers also, but nothing that's worth a professional mix or anything.

Cool, what equipment do you have?

tnspieler - what equipment does your dad use?

I have my own home recording studio, I use Cuebase Studio 4 which is one of the best softwares to record with, professional bands all use that or ableton, which I also have.

A part from my equipent:

I record with Adobe Audition, Audacity, Cubase, and some more. :P

I play on my Marshall 4x10 bassamp(Cool to know, Guy also played bass on this amps:P)

4 bassguitars, 2 guitars 3 keyboards, Yamaha piano.. and more.

When the sound is'nt good fitting in the song, I use virtual instruments(VSTi) on my records to make it fit.

My acoustic in this room is very nice, better than the old room.

This is the old room(not a studio):

This room is much bigger and the low bass notes are better than before!

oh wow, you really know your stuff,

:D

Apart from having my own studio set up,

I have a portable one too,

which I can use with my laptop,

which I also use cuebase studio 4 for.

Which coldplay used when they were experimenting in churches in spain or whatever.

I use a Tascam Sound card.

;)

My dad's "studio" set up in our basement is nothing at all fancy, just for personal entertainment (although sometimes he acts like it's a full time job).

He records on what I believe is the boss BR-1200CD. Not sure about the speakers...and he plays a pretty pricey breedlove acoustic-electric, the yamaha 620 digital piano that I got for my birthday is now used in pretty much every song, he also has a cheap little drum set in the corner, and a million little miscellaneous instruments (bongos, cowbells etc.). He usually just mixes everything on the boss, We once got a little editing program that I used to add stadium-like reverb and chorus effects to copies of his songs, and for a while he was really liking it, but changed his mind later on. He sometimes uses a digitech vx 400-vocal effects processor for recording vocals. Not sure about the mic, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
