Coldplay Syndrome

Featured Replies

All the time now, 24/7 I think about Coldplay. They show up everywhere. It's crazy...the number "42" seems to show up 800 times as often as any number in Math, and in Romeo and Juliet today Juliet was supposed to sleep for 42 hours when she drunk the potion. I see a Violet crayon, and I think of Violet Hill. When speaking in Spanish I hear "Viva" or "Vida" louder than any other word. I know someone named Lucas. As it rained today I longed to hear "Rainy Day". Talking about Imperialist Japan and China in History makes me think of "Lovers in Japan" and "Chinese Sleep Chant". I see a box of strawberries and think of "Strawberry Swing".

We're getting close.

i agree with you about 42 popping up EVERYWHERE now! it's funny that all of a sudden it's more noticable than ever.

umm, i'm being incredibly stupid, i know, but...what does "lucas" have to do with anything?

A song called Lukas might be released prior to or after the album. :p

Haha, you're first post was amusing :laugh1:I think someone here has a phrase under their name which says something like "Obsessive Coldplay Disorder". Maybe thats what you, and so many other unfortunate coldplayers may have :P

And yes, I'm hoping all the unreleased songs, including Lukas, show up as B sides.

Hahaha, that's me.. but i think the title should go to you. :P Josh42 lol that rhymed.

I'm pretty sure that was mentioned in the Billboard article, allong with The Goldrush and Postcards From Far Away.

i think i'm turning into a moron. this is what excitement does to me. for some reason, though, lukas didn't stick in the brain

and Obsessive Coldplay Disorder is defintely the sort of OCD i have these few months!

My favorite B-side title and maybe even my favorite title of all of the new songs is Postcards From Far Away...also from the article with Lukas.

I love it Hotplay :D

Ha, don't feel like a moron. I had no idea either. Gosh, Coldplay has an awful lot of songs.:dozey:

ha thank you.;):P:rolleyes:

What with all the information released over the past 2 months, it's not surprising that ONE piece of information (in this case a song title) was overlooked. It certainly doesn't make a moron either - when i first read the same article, I misread the title "Now my feet wont touch the ground" as "No more keeping my feet on the ground" and I thought they just made a mistake. It took me quite a while to figure out that it was actually a different song title :P So there you go.

And yes, Postcards From Far Away ROCKS as a title.

i know, but this is like the second or third time that i've completely missed something! :laugh4: i know it's not anything to be ashamed of, it just freaks me out :P

postcards from far away is DEFINTIELY my favorite title out of every single other one we've been told about. i'm going to be pretty sad if we never get to hear it in any form. lukas sounds cool as well, but i kind of hope it's not a story song about a made-up character. i tend to get a bit annoyed by those.

Love the siggy Chelsea,I saw that video a while ago, but was it really a secret message in it that I didn't catch?

Even Doctor Robert? :P

I would hate it if they don't release those songs as B sides, because for me, they've never released an awful track. In fact, i love some of their B sides more than some album tracks, especially those from the AROBTTH era. Almost every non-album is strong. I just can't help but think we would be missing out on some wonderful music if they decide not to release some of them.

YES!! :D

when chris does all his hand signs, it spells out that, and towards the end when will is being crazy, he mouths the words "VIVA LA VIDA." you HAVE to check it out again!

semy: i have to say that "doctor robert" is my least favorite song on the album! i just generally don't connect with story songs from any artist nearly as much as the others. though coldplay's never done it, so it would be interesting to hear!

and now because of the movie across the universe, i simply can't think of or hear "doctor robert" without thinking of bono, who played dr. robert in the movie :P

Dang I can't believe no one noticed that...

^if you go back in the "NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM" thread and look at posts from november 7, 2007 and after, you'll see all of us tearing it apart :D

we did notice the viva la vida thing, and a bunch of us (*raises hand*) were convinced that it would be the album title as well

Haha, fair enough. And I had no idea bono was in that movie! I think I need to watch it someday, seeing as ive heard mostly good things about it.

I think its so cool that Chris and the guys decided to leak the title through that video :D It almost makes you want to forget how painful it was waiting for prospekts entries. I hope they talk about that video in interviews, it'll be interesting to hear what they have to say about it.

yeah, there are a bunch of famous people in the movie, actually. but i warn you that it's one of the most poorly written movies i've ever come across, despite the spectacular acting and even more spectacular music. so, bono is dr. robert forever for me, i'm afraid.

and if you look at the old thread that i bumped today called "it's a pub scrawl for chris" from last june, you'll see that he had written "VIVA [something]" on his shoe one drunken night. i love fitting all these little pieces together!

YES!! :D

Oh it definitely rocks. I noticed it today but forgot to say something. It's great!!
