Famous Old Painter
OK it's too early to tell what the music videos will be like for songs off this album seeing as we havent heard it yet (which is making me a little too excited and impatient). I couldn't find the appropriate thread to post this in though so we may have to just go on song titles and descriptions or something. Though I have noticed that the music vids for the last 3 albums have all had a theme, but with VLV being a brand new direction it may not follow that anymore. My observation, the 1st single always seems to be a performance vid where the band are playing in a room somewhere. Shiver - Performing in a room with things lying everywhere In My Place - Performing in an empty room Speed Of Sound - Performing in a dark room with a big light board behind them Violet Hill - ? The second single seems to have Chris walking around slowly somewhere Yellow - on the beach The Scientist - backwards Fix You - down a city street, and a concert at the end The third single seems to have a less obvious theme, that they're all very dark in colour Trouble (UK Version) - Chris tied up in a dark parking lot at night Clocks - Performing in a dark room with the only light around the band Talk - In the deep dark depths of space And the fourth and last single always seems to be something a little more dangerous, arty, freaky and even a little disturbing Dont Panic - The band as 2D cutouts, pretty freaky GPASUYF - A man slowly and painfully vanishes from the face of the earth. Pretty freaky. The Hardest Part - A pretty much naked man does a dance routine with an 80 year old woman. Doesn't get much freakier than that! Or does it? deaths_friend
very interesting observations but i'm waiting for the day that coldplay make a half decent video. with the exception of the scientist every clip has been nothing short of laughable. lets hope the band gets themselves a decent director, the americans might hav shit music but they sure do know how to make video clips. Famous Old Painter
You saying you want fast cars, lots of bling and booty girls? :laugh3: I would have to kill myself if they made a serious clip like that.

Have to agree with you there, CP's video clips are pretty crap if I must say. But I don't think the boys wil turn their vids RNB style...they should take a look at Muse's vids and also this band called OKgo, I'd be way happier if Coldplay went along with their new music style and make music vids a little more on the wackier side, or at least get some better concept. No jokes, I am fed up with CP vids where its just Chris walking, so boring. If I was in a band I'd want my music vids to catch people's attention, I'd want them to be unique and different. GPAS, Speed of Sound, Talk and the Hardest part are definately their best videos because they are different!! /rant over\
Tnspieler1012
well not that it means anything but all the second singles feature chris traveling long distances alone, mostly in slow motion.
deaths_friend
i was referring to bands like 'the killers', chili peppers and linkin park and foo fighters all of whom consistently make great videos using american directors
miss capa
^I think they just need a better concept in their vids. To be honest their directors are pretty good, its just their concepts
KissesBirds
I think the artsy Trouble video with them on the wagon was absolutely amazing. It went perfectly with the song IMHO. I think everything really came together well on that song and video. God, the guitar went well and Chris's singing was beautiful. I can't get over how perfect that song is.
