Yep. Pages and pages of SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! I made it the night we were all waiting for Violet Hill to hit the 'net. I'm not the 'fangirl' type, but even I couldn't wait another second for new Coldplay. With any luck at all, we'll all be using it again for the new 'spacey' record. :D:D:D

That was such a great night wasn't it Tracie? [reminiscent mood]

It was like anything in the world was possible in just a few short hours. All the excitement and anticipation, nothing like it!

It was amazing!! I seem to recall a 'violet bum' club for some of us who'd been sitting in our chairs for hours just waiting, lol. And then the leak on the Justin forums a couple weeks later? Priceless!!

I made a thread asking whether I should get up at 5Am and listen or wait until after school. It was like such a BIG DEAL it had to be perfect. I was such a noob :D

HAHAHAHAHA!!! We were ALL acting like noobs then, lol. I came here just after X&Y, but even the MODS were doin' it when I was still just a lurker, lol. New albums bring out the noob...or fangirl...in all of us! That's the fun of it. :) OK, checking the link and probably laughing my violet bum off...

Wow this is funny. I'm looking through a bunch of old threads I made..I forgot some cool stuff about you. I mentioned when I introduced myself that I love On The Road by Jack Kerouac and you said you loved it too. I asked how to make money to go to a Coldplay concert and you said to go busking, I asked what busking was! Now I'm always telling people what busking is...I'm in love with busking (though admittedly I've never actually done it...yet).

Good times, good to have you back Tracie, since apparently you're really cool.

Nice!! I've always thought street performers were artists, not bums...and hey, even Chris and Jonny did it,lol. What was your username last year? It's confusing me no end, lol.

Well back then I was 2732..then I was Fitz for a while...then Heatseeker shortly, now I'm Pseudonym for a while. Confusing I know.

Thought so, but I wasn't sure. A lot of ppl have changed their names, and since I've been gone 'noobs' have bigger post counts than me,lol. Just trying to sort it all out again. I suppose I should make a new 'intro' thread, but it seems pretentious. Then again, it seems rude not to for the newbies who might think I'm a troll,lol...

Lol, you can make a thread to re-introduce yourself. You greatly overestimate the manners of this place these days. There was a point not too long ago where there were 50 threads a day made about waffles. Waffles. No kidding. This smiley was a result: :waffle:

Go ahead and let em know who you are. After all you're their senior :p

Gotta watch out for that Crests though, she's not even a year on here and she has 80,000 posts :/

A WAFFLE smiley?? lol. You were here for the stupid clubs, IIRC. At least waffle threads aren't hate threads...how bored we get between albums!!

Senior? Hmmm...not sure how to take that, lol.

I know it got bad here for a while, but honestly, I think some people (and even some well-meaning people) over-stated how bad it was. I've read through all the nasty threads, and they broke my heart, but most people are already over it and Ian's chugging along as usual, keeping it going. :) I was new to forums when I joined here, and was stunned the first time I saw ppl fighting, but nowadays, that's just par for the course. The ones who love this place will drop the BS and just enjoy. The ones who don't can go...well...I'll save that for the swearing thread, lol. But it's really not that bad anymore, thankfully. :D

Yeah it was really dumb here for a while. I actually left during all that waffle madness, the whole forum was taken over by a bored fangirly mentality, it was awful. It was worse than the fighting, cuz at least the fighting is interesting.

I just mean you've been on here for year, they're all newbs!1!

Yeah it gets bad sometimes but it goes on. Soon enough there'll be a new album on the way and all that great anticipation will start again!

A few of us on FB joked about how the power of Coldplay was all in Chris's hair, lol. I'm a little too 'old' to be a fangirl, but I still made that SQUEEEEEEE thread. I'm not into fangirly-ness, but hey, they're not hurting anyone. I saw some of it (constant lurker) and it got on my nerves, but they're just enjoying the band in their way. I could care less about Chris's hair, I'm WAY more interested in his Gibson Hummingbird, or how he strings chords together, but it takes a village etc...:) And if you asked most of them, I think they'd agree that Chris wouldn't be worth drooling over if he didn't have talent. :)

Ahhh the memories. I loved reading back over some of this thread. Had kind of forgotten what a great time that was here :D

Nostalgia beckons me to....
