Yeah I'm really excited that Saku joined the team.

I watched the game downtown today. They have this thing called FanFest where an attached building to the rink had around 10 big screen tvs with games on from Quebec and Halifax as well as some other stuff.

 

Not many people were there since it was a Wednesday afternoon. But toward the end of the game a lot of Germany fans came down and set up this massive balloon chain.

 

Then after the game we went outside and there were TONNES of Germans and Finns walking around. It was really awesome hearing all these different languages.

 

oh wow, that must be cool! I just hope that Saku will do some magic tricks to save our team. The last 2 games haven't been easy ones. But at least we won them all like we were supposed to. I just don't know how much further Finland can go with that style but we'll see.

I think Canada and Finland are playing each other on Monday. Unfortunately I don't think I have an extra $65 to spend on hockey tickets. Especially since I've spent over $150 on tickets the past month haha.

Yesterday's game (Canada vs Norway) was incredible! I've never seen such an exciting hockey game.

Yeah the crowd was on edge the whole time but there was never really any doubt that Canada would win. They scored the 2nd goal in the last 5 minutes of the game...yarrrghhh!!!! lol

norway sure can be a pain in the ass.. yesterday's game was a lot like finland - norway match a few days ago.

 

I just don't get why we can't score! I mean c'mon. We're playing against Latvia and it's 0-1 for LATVIA now aaargh. Their goalie is definitely the best player of their team..

 

add: Masalskis: 62 saves!! That's insane and we scored only twice..

 

I'm watching the Canada - Germany game now and the 3rd period is just about to start. It's gonna get ugly for Germany for sure..

yeah that was just unbelievable. They actually showed the place where it went trought and there wasn't even a hole there hahha. How the hell is that possible?

I heard they fired the swedish guy who was checking the video and told the referees that it was a goal. That's the right decision for sure

 

Last night Canada was just simply better than us. Canada also got lucky..the first goal was just a stupis mistake by the finnish defenders and Bäckström wasn't playing that well either. And another shot hit Lepistö's head on the way to goal. Bad bad luck.

 

Nash and Heatley are just fantastic players, no doubt about it. And they're huge too!

I think that Finland will be able to beat the US tomorrow. Well I definitely hope so. I put pictures up on facebook from the Germany vs. Latvia game yesterday.

 

Also got to meet Derek Roy and Mike Green as well as a bunch of Finns.

I met Koivu tonight.

And Sellane.

And Mikko Koivu.

And Ruutu.

And a bunch of Americans as well.

Well, gotta say that Russia is playing really well..really really well. They had a totally new tactis when the game started and then they were able to score and after the 2 goals they just froze the game totally and gave finland no chances to play.

 

I'm actually not that disappointed. I know many people will be pissed off but i still think some finnish players have played really well but unfortunately russia has been better. They have many great players and a great goalie, too.

Gotta say that Doug Shedden hasn't been able to make the team play as well as they could play. He has made some weird decisions and got a lot of critic for that.. for reasons.

 

I'll be rooting for Canada! And we will win the bronze game :wink:

I'm so happy Canada won! I think it will be a really close game against the Russians. I think our defense is good enough to stop their firepower.

yeah well i never thought sweden had any chances to win. They played better than i thought they would play though.

 

This is actually the best final ever! Two really good teams..it'll be interesting to see what'll happen!

 

And it'd be so great to beat sweden haha. Beating sweden is the most important thing for finns..

Pihlstrom came up huge (sorry if I spelt it wrong)....whats up with all the players I met doing good. (Derek Roy had 3 goals against Norway and Mike Green had the game winner against Sweden and Pihlstrom and Lepisto scored big goals as well).

Cheers! I was quite happy that Bäckström was able to play a perfect game - no goals whatsoever yay!

And yeah, Pihlström will be a big name next year. I'm sure he'll get to play more games in NHL from now on woho!

 

I also love how humble he is..they were interviewing him after the game about the first goal and he was just like "ah well, i just happened to be there and shot the puck in to the goal and it went in!"

The second pihlström's goal was a great goal. That was pretty to watch!

 

All the luck for the very hard game today! Two absolutely best teams made it to the finals so it'll be very exciting
