Viva La Vida vinyl

There's a pre-order on Amazon.com for the vinyl LP of "Viva La Vida" and I just wanted to know if anybody knows if there's any bonuses with it (the $22 price tag is steep even though I'm sure it's on 180-gram 2xLP)? Any information would be helpful, thanks.

I don't know if this can be useful but I got an email from a UK shop I already bought from and they have listed VLV for pre-order.

For the vinyl the description is "Limited Edition 'Pressed to Order' luxury vinyl", so at least it should be a limited edition, don't know in which terms though

OK thanks for your replies. I'll probably just buy the CD for cheap and get the vinyl cheap too sometime. It would be even cooler if the vinyl came with a free copy of the CD too. or at least a download of the album for free in high quality files. Either way I wanna own a physical copy of the album whether it be record or CD.

If that sales ads are correct, at Best Buy, Viva La Vida will be on sale as a vinyl/CD combo for $14.99. Every store only has a minimum of 2 copies of this, so I'm gonna have to rush over there and get that. This is a great deal!!!!!

Is that posted on their website? I can't find anything about it. I wonder if that's at all of their stores nationwide. I hope so!

I went to my local BB tonight before they closed and they said they had 3 of them. I just went on their site and saw that you can now buy it, so I did an 'in-store pickup' just to be safe. I will still be there at 9:45 though, to make sure I get a copy.

If you are running to Best Buy to get the vinyl, they said they usually put their vinyl in the "BOX SETS" area. Hopefully that is helpful to you guys. I would recommend getting there 15 minutes ahead of time just in case, because all 5 BBs in the area are getting a MAXIMUM of 3, one store is only getting 2.

Hopefully it isn't a mistake in their ad, about it being a vinyl/cd combo, as I do not have a working turntable at the moment. If they say it is a mistake, I will try to get them to give me the CD with it as well, but I doubt they will if it comes to that.

This will be the first vinyl I have ever bought new (I am 23) and have a feeling this will be the first of many. I have a question about the players. My parents have their old ones, but they are in boxes somewhere in my basement, so I was looking for one to buy. Does anyone know anything about the AT-PL120 from AudioTechnica? How about their AT-PL50 model?

Thanks for the help.

I got my vinyl/CD combo at Best Buy today at 10 a.m.

The album is on 1xLP with a huge full-size booklet and gatefold packaging. The CD comes in a tiny little sleeve that is housed on the right half of the gatefold along with the record. The vinyl sounds beautiful. I love this album. I have yet to put on the CD but I'm glad Capitol did this that way I didn't have to buy both the vinyl and CD for outrageous prices.

Help!

I asked my wife to go out and grab that cd/vinyl copy at Best Buy when the store opened this morning (I had to be at work). She went and grabbed separate copies of the vinyl and the CD. Apparently this vinyl was the only vinyl in the store. Is there any way to tell if the CD is inside without opening the shrinkwrap? Did ALL vinyls come with a CD at Best Buy?

The vinyl I bought at Best Buy had the cd. I believe mine had a sticker on the shrinkwrap saying something about a "cd insert" inside. Unfortunately that wrapper is long gone, seeing once I played the vinyl immediately, once getting home.

Does anyone know anything about the AT-PL120 from AudioTechnica? How about their AT-PL50 model?

I've had the AT-PL50 for about three months now and I'm really happy with it. I've never owned a turntable before (I'm 24) and was nervous about going with the PL50's belt drive over the P120's direct drive, but I'm happy to say I haven't had any problems so far (knock on wood). I mostly use the turntable to play brand new vinyl and it sounds amazing. As far as I can tell it's a great record player for someone just getting into vinyl.

You should be able to get one on Amazon (where I purchased mine) for like 75 bucks. The shipping was super fast and I was listening in no time.

FYI, I bought my copy of "Viva la Vida" on Best Buy's web site and also did the "in store pick-up" option. I'm happy to say the CD was included in the record sleeve.

I gave the album a spin this afternoon and was blown away by how much better it sounded (versus the stream I heard last week). Truly a thing of beauty... :D

Well, I finally got the vinyl today. Best Buy messed up and they pulled the CD instead of the vinyl Tuesday morning and they had sold out. I was really pissed and the manager was nice enough to look for a copy at all the stores in the region and/or company. Luckily they found one at a store 100 miles away and got it in today.

Too bad I don't have a turntable at the moment. I am trying to decide between the AT-PL50 or the PL120... :|

Alright, got the numbers!

Vinyl: 509992-16965-10

CD: 509992-16965-27

The CD is harder to read; for some reason, there are larger spaces around the 2's than anywhere else, so it may actually read 50999-2-16965-2-7. But judging from the vinyl's serial format, I'm guessing my first interpretation is correct.
