Coldplays melodies are unlust

Featured Replies

ii dont know if there already is a thread like this but i really disliked LIJ. it was so slow like the piano version of lost!. but it did sound a little like china grove. it seems like CP dont have their "clocks" melodies anymore after LIJ and maybe VH. do you think they might be loosing their lust a little?

^so is your face

Hey you just picked a bad day to start a serious thread, that's all.

Has been a bit crazy here today. I'm sure you'll get some proper responses when everything has calmed down. :)

I cant stop, its a problem

And dont you dare say "Your face is a problem"

what. do you guys know what lust even means?

I honestly don't understand you, and I don't think I'm an idiot for that...try elaborating your point a bit instead of insulting people. Do you mean they've lost their passion? I don't agree they have, but at least we can try to have a civil conversation about it...WTF is up with this place today??

You're face is up with this place today

Sorry that's the last time I swear:\

what do you mean by "lust"? their desire or what? because I don't see any resemblance between any of the definitions I know and coldplay melodies

I think I know what he means. Its just the new songs dont seem to have the same natural passion and soul that some of the older songs had. I personally dont agree with this, but I think thats what he was getting at

Do you mean they've lost their passion?

That's what I thought the original poster meant by his question.

In response, I do not believe that Coldplay has lost their passion in the slightest. As a matter of fact, I would be inclined to argue that Coldplay has brought an even more forceful passion into the making of LP4 than their previous entries. Perhaps it is due to the religious influence (in whatever capacity it meant for the band) or because the lack of communication the band had with one another was restored in working with Brain Eno. Whatever sparked this surge of creativity, I like it and I think others do, too.

What exactly made you feel as if the band had lost their passion? Are you more of a fan of the epic songs with a lot of build in them? If so, I can understand that hearing a song that contains different elements may not necessarily be to your liking.

But you know what they say...Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. :D

^THat's what I'm guessing too. I love the new melodies, but I think they're more 'crafted' than just improvised or off the cuff...that's what comes of working with Eno,lol...

Lustre and passion can be interpreted as the same thing, I would imagine. Would you agree?

Hey you just picked a bad day to start a serious thread, that's all.

AHahAHAHhaAHaHhahAHAHHaHAHAHha totally right

I think he means 'lustre' guys.

That would explain a lot :P
