New album Viva La Vida out June 14

"This album was fuelled by a desire to move from black and white into colour," says frontman Chris Martin about album #4 and the follow-up to 2005's X&Y.

"I think it's our boldest and most confident record," says bassist Guy Berryman. "We're much more open to new ideas and influences and less afraid to experiment."

Preceded by the luscious single 'Violet Hill', Viva La Vida...' sees Coldplay pushing themselves into new territory. Produced by legend Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, their fourth album was largely recorded in their new studio, The Bakery (literally a renovated old London bakery) where the band would rehearsed day in and day out.

"I wanted this record to prove us worthy of the position we've been given," says Martin. "Whatever anyone makes of the record, when we play live, we're gonna be on fire."

Trace the band's amazing trajectory from modest fresh faces to global superstars. Plus it's a great chance to see Chris' curly hair back in the day.
