check out the iTunes international chart

damn, that is quite impressive. Though, why is it that only the US and Canada list it as VLV rather than VLVODAAHF? Something about north America?

I wish the singles charts had VLV listed higher in most countries. Does anyone think that Violet Hill would have been a bigger single if it wasn't released early? I just feel it was around for a while on the US charts and then didn't have the steam of the rest of the album to keep it around. Then again, it looks like its mostly the US that has forgotten about it so quickly.

has this ever happened before in the history of itunes?! number one in EVERY INTERNATIONAL STORE THAT THERE IS?!

something tells me this is a record not to be broken by anyone else unless john lennon and george harrison are resurrected from the dead and the beatles put out a new album.

Madonna's 'Confessions on a Dance Floor' is the closest one. It was # 1 almost everywhere except Japan and a couple other countries I think. That was in 2005.

Meanwhile, its a clean sweep for Coldplay on the iTunes international chart, sitting at no.1 in (no particular order) - US (single), UK, France, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Greece, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Oh my God. :o Amazing. :D :D

Can't say they don't deserve it either.

I was waiting for it, but now...
