Arena's vs Stadiums

Featured Replies

Which type of venue do you feel best suits coldplay and their music arenas (indoors capacity between 12 000 and 25 000) or stadiums (venues usually used for football or rugby capacity over 30 000). i've heard both guy and chris admit they're not ready to play stadiums and personnally i agree with them.

would love to hear from people who have seem them at both types. for the sake of the argument lets ignore outdoor gigs cos lets face it which band doesnt look and sound awesome out in the open.

and once again congrats to the boys on getting to number one!!

well, all i know is that i'm going to see them at the Amway Arena. So, if they feel more comfortable in Arena's then, great! better show. :dance:

dno. never been to a stadium concert of anyone. i'll judge after then

Even U2 makes a point to stick to arenas from what I understand. All playing a stadium means is that 90% of the seats kind of suck. Especially if you're used to being up at the front in little clubs.

arenas= gladiators

stadiums=soccer players

i hope they never do stadiums. you can't see a damn thing unless you have the seats that cost $1000. i saw the rolling stones in a football stadium, pretty far out there, and there was actually a SOUND DELAY from when mick jagger opened his mouth and the time the sound wave got to me at the other end of the stadium. i mean, they were great because they had this moving stage that moved to the opposite end of the stadium, so i was really close at one point, but really. you shouldnt have a sound delay at concerts due to SHEER DISTANCE from the stage. mick jagger and his leather pants looked like a damn ant in leather pants :P

It hurts to know they can never go back to smaller theaters.
