totally irrational.

1 - 'Cheap' flights are for the priviliged

Taking a london airport for their example makes no sense, they should at least used the average income for a traveller from an airport outside London, like Bournemouth

 

2 - Aviation expansion is wiping established communities off the map

True expansion will mean some communities will have to be cleared.

 

3 - Airport expansion will destroy important heritage sites

O Really?

 

4 - Aviation diverts money away from public services

Bring Aviation back into the public hands, get rid of the shareholders, get rid of the profit driven company, same with trains and buses. Public transport should be publicly owned.

 

5 - Aviation expansion will destroy ancient forests and woodland

Couldn't this be mixed with 2 & 3?

 

6 - Airports cause illegal levels of nitrous oxide pollution

Oh my god, illegal levels of nitrous oxides!!!

 

7 - Aviation is mostly unnecessary

But why drive for 10 or so hours or catch a train which costs an awfully lot more? But fair point, if you get rid of the flights between cities in the UK at least, make people use the trains.

 

8 - Aviation is the fastest growing cause of climate change

O Really, I thought the fastest growing cause of climate change was the sun's output being higher?

 

9 - Aviation's contribution to the economy is massively overstated

Of course, all the money is poured back into the shareholders pockets

 

10 - Aviation creates massive noise pollution

And so does roadworks and rock concerts, but you don't see people making 10 reasons to ban lists for them?

 

11 - Aviation should be grounded

All aviation including air ambulances, police helicopters, fire helicopters, RAF planes etc? Tell the people that in the Scottish highlands when they need medical care etc.
