Coldplay clash ends in court date

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Chris Martin, lead singer of rock band Coldplay and boyfriend of Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, is to appear in an Australian court after allegedly clashing with a photographer on a popular tourist beach.The British band played at a music festival in the northern New South Wales beach town of Byron Bay over the weekend.

 

Freelance photographer Jon Lister followed the singer to nearby Seven Mile Beach on Sunday and took photos of 26-year-old Martin and his entourage surfing, Sydney tabloid the Daily Telegraph reported.

 

The frontman emerged from the water furious, demanding Lister erase the photos from his digital camera, the report said.

 

During the fracas, the windshield of Lister's car was smashed and the air let out of his tires.

 

A police spokeswoman said a 26-year-old Englishman had been given a notice to appear in Byron Bay Local Court on October 8 to answer an allegation of malicious damage, but refused to confirm Martin's involvement in the incident.

 

Paltrow is in Australia with Martin, but she was not reported to have been present at the time.

 

The band is due to play at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan later this week.

I think truely everything has become blown out of proportion, as while reading everthing you people have to say its all condensed by what you believe the media is saying. For example CNN express that Chris actually "Smashed" the windshield, The Sun say that he "...threw stones at the windshiled however it did not break." these are just two examples of how storys can easily change to cause shock affect.

 

One story even said that he is not going to court, and he only let the photographers tires down. :cool:

 

As fans I dont thinkl we should be upset by what could be half truth's and that we should wait for Chris to express the truth.

 

And whatever he did - good on him he's only a real human being with feelings.
