"Diversity" Is Costing Us Dearly!

"Diversity" is arguably the most popular "feel-good" word in American popular culture. It conjures up images of a society where everyone is welcome and nobody dominates.

Of course, those seeking to promote diversity never express a need to admit more whites or even Hispanics to "historically black colleges," nor to increase black or Indian homeownership in New York's Chinatown. "Diversity," far from meaning "let's all get together," really means, "let's displace whites." And racially unconscious whites don't care about—in fact, they even "celebrate"—their own decline.

But according to a new study undertaken by Dr. Edwin S. Rubinstein, the negative effects of diversity programs are not limited to the whites who are displaced by them. They are harming the economy as a whole—to the tune of trillions of dollars.

Today's neo-"conservatives," whose only remaining connection to traditional conservatism is a concern for free enterprise and economic prosperity, routinely join liberals in the clamor for more diversity. They would do well to read Dr. Rubinstein's study, which proves that the damages caused by diversity can be measured in the only terms neocons understand: dollars and cents. Lots of dollars and cents.

Well, there is something to what you say, but really we're not so different from one-another. Just traditions and sub-cultures and such. I can understand how when one culture moves into a neighborhood where another culture is, there's a bit of friction from some of the different ways of interacting with one-another, and different traditions, but as long as we all abide by the golden rule, things go alright usually. Then when there's a mixing of cultural traditions, this causes some confusion too, but I think we're all modern enough to handle it.;)

But according to a new study undertaken by Dr. Edwin S. Rubinstein, the negative effects of diversity programs are not limited to the whites who are displaced by them. They are harming the economy as a whole—to the tune of trillions of dollars.

How is this so?? Most of the real labor is done by immigrants in the US, and they work damn hard at their jobs. Maybe the economic pinch is really a result of a global issue of finding the cheapest laborers and exploiting them, and then pitting them against one-another, so the workers of the world all remain poor?? Ever work in a plant?

Today's neo-"conservatives," whose only remaining connection to traditional conservatism is a concern for free enterprise and economic prosperity, routinely join liberals in the clamor for more diversity. Neocons profit from the cheap labor & the divide between rich and working poor; but Liberals want both diversity and rising wages for all working men and women. But the essential questions of Fair Global Trade, and the exploitation of workers everywhere is the real question. For example, Mexico's maquiladoras took off for China and elsewhere, leaving Mexicans (and Guatemalans who lost their coffee plantations) searching for work to survive & feed their families. Hence, they move north to where the work is, and $7 an hour is big bucks for someone coming from the poorer places - plenty enough to feed and care for a family. And they do all the jobs Americans won't do - the real production of food, cleaning messes up, etc. How does that hurt our economy? If we take the big money out of politics by limiting campaign cash donations, we might see some policies that reflect fair trade & greater equity in the world. And besides, all this divisiveness is bad karma.;) We're all here on planet earth, and we need to learn to get along and play fair with one-another, if we want a better, richer place to live in.

The Neocons have a lot of loose marbles - just look at the Iraq war. If that's their idea of "changing the world", and they should all go live there then.
