I'm a terrible person.

You don't have to read this if you don't care, I'm not really looking for a huge amount of sympathy or anything, but I just want to get it out or something because i feel horrible.

It's my sister's sixteenth birthday today, and my mother and I gave her her presents last night. I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and my sister, Samantha came in and picked up a hairbrush and stood around a little, but was unusually quiet, so I didn't say anything to her because sometimes she's in a bad mood in the morning (if she "doesn't have anything to wear" or if shes having a bad hair day) nor did I remember about her birthday. My sister and I have always been more like good friends than sisters and we've never really fought about anything. I know that she would have NEVER forgotten my birthday, especially if I was turning sixteen. Anyway, my mom called me to the kitchen this morning while my sister was sitting there because she "needed help finding the dog's toys." I went downstairs, picked up a toy, gave it to her, and went to walk upstairs. Then my mom called after me and said why don't you wish your sister a happy birthday? So I turned to give her a big hug and appologize, but she was already out the door. I freaked out at that point and actually started crying and ran to my room to cool off a little. I'm not sure how I'll be able to live with myself all day, because like I said, she's my best friend.:(

Nobody needs to reply, this just helped me cool off. If you did take the time though, thank you, and what should I do?:embarassed:

You can't be a terrible person if you listen to Coldplay. ;)

Buy her flowers, I guess. IDK

I'll all get better. Just give it time. Maybe get her something or do something for her to make up for it.

He was only saying that you, good sir, are a rooster...honored by the Chinese and considered one of the most majestic of all Farm animals!

ITS A COMPLIMENT!

Well, we all forget things, even important things, like birthdays of people we're close to! Just be honest and sincere - you did buy her presents in anticipation of her birthday, and you had planned to remember, but sometimes we just get into the routines of day-to-day life, our minds wander onto subjects that distract us temporarily, and then we forget - it's natural, and unintentional. Just be yourself, tell her you're very sorry for forgetting, and want to make her feel happy & wish her a happy birthday - I think anyone can understand that, as I'm sure she has forgotten important things as well - it's not intentional, and you had planned on giving her a gift, so you were thinking of her - just forgot on the day.

I can tell you are a caring person who just lost track of what the day meant - she should understand that.

Feel Better - you're a nice person who's forgetful like we all are at times!;)

Well said. Chuck is right. You are a nice, caring person and you need to just say you're sorry and explain what happened.

I was actually calling her a penis, the male sexual organ, one of the least majestic organs around.

I'm not even sure when my parent's birthday is... I always get recalled by my sister some days before asking me to help for buying something to them.

I know, I'm such a terrible person...
