How can I cut guitar strings?

Featured Replies

I just strung my acoustic guitar with steel strings and I don't have a wire-cutter handy. That is what I usually use to cut the ends of the strings off. Does anyone know of any other way I can cut the strings?

use scissors

scissors don't cut through steel strings, they just strip down the outside;)

Never mind (I found my wire-cutters:rolleyes:)

Thanks anyway, if I lose them again I know I can use pliers now (I probably should have thought of that:thinking:)

:lock:

If you really can't find anything, just loop it and bind everything with the loose ends. so that the excess wires will be shorter and won't let you injure other people when they watch you play up close.

nevertheless, pliers are still nice to use.
