I got it for Hanukkah tonight, so here's my review after 1 listen through.

1. LITii: Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant. Kind of wished it was left on the album, would have gone great with everything else.

2. Postcards: B-E-A-utiful.

3. Glass of Water: Really reminded me in the chorus of the ending of DAAHF. Just very climactic and grand sounding. A very good song.

4. Rainy Day: Very weird, not like anything they've done. I'm not crazy about it now, but I'm sure it will grow on me.

5. PM/Poppyfields: Another brilliant song. I can understand why it was left off the album, but it's a damn good addition to this EP.

6. Lost+: Shit. Absolute shit. Lost! is an amazing song, Jay-Z absolutely destroys anything about it with horrible rapping. I don't hate rap, I hate bad rap. And that's what this is. I will not listen to this one again anytime soon.

7. LIJ (Osaka Sun Mix): I love it. It's the version from the music video. The "ooh's" after the first chorus are great, and the additional back up singing adds to the second verse greatly. I like it better than the original. Unfortunately, in this version they cut out the best part of LIJ: Reign of Love!

8. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground: Boy they sure don't like having their feet on he ground do they? An absolutely beautiful song, very reminiscent of Til Kingdom Come, I think it would have even fit on the album.

Overall: 7/10. A few good songs, a good remix of LIJ, a couple potential classics, and one piece of good music destroyed by some of the worst rap I've ever heard. A very good if not great EP, but compared to an album, it falls short. A nice treat, but VLVOD still holds the flag.

i like the ep better:P

but i agree lost+ is shitty.

how could it be better? better than Viva? than Violet Hill? 42? Strawberry Swing? DAAHF? That's a lot of awesome...how could it be better?

what's your favorite PM song?

well i guess theyre equal,

because i dont really like Lit, strawberryswing, or viva la vida on the viva album.

my favorite would have to be rainy day or glass of water:smug2:

how about you?

yep

oh dang i wonder if all the eps have sold out yet:uhoh:

Hey, our opinions were pretty close.

Except on Lost+... calm down, fella, you'll hurt yourself!!!

Aren't the words to LITii beautiful?

"Oh love don't let me go..."

Sounded so great sung by 8000 people at Liverpool!

I wish I coulda heard it live

It was amazing - the EP had only been out a fortnight but everyone knew the words... and not just the "woahs"

1. LITii: Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant. Kind of wished it was left on the album, would have gone great with everything else.

I liked the original, of course, but the words have taken this song to an entirely new level.

It's now already become one of my all-time fave Coldplay songs, and it sounded fantastic live, too. Ending the concerts with it was a great idea and meant they finished on a real high note. Ace!!:D

2. Postcards: B-E-A-utiful.

I totally agree - but WAY too short. This should have been extended to a couple of minutes at least. It just leaves you wanting more every time.:(

3. Glass of Water: Really reminded me in the chorus of the ending of DAAHF. Just very climactic and grand sounding. A very good song.

The faster parts of this song remind me of a song called "You And Me Always" by The Wannadies, which was a good song in its own right.

I love the way it "changes up" and it's a definite grower, with an impressive ending.;)

Great "driving" song too, methinks.

4. Rainy Day: Very weird, not like anything they've done. I'm not crazy about it now, but I'm sure it will grow on me.

This song sounds so "flower-power" Sixties, and I love it. Influenced by "Sgt. Pepper", perhaps??

Fantastic use of violins.;)

5. PM/Poppyfields: Another brilliant song. I can understand why it was left off the album, but it's a damn good addition to this EP.

I'm afraid this doesn't really grab me at all. It seems to wash over me for some reason.:\

I'm not a big rap fan, but even this has grown on me. I don't think the rapping's too bad on this, and only amounts to a few lines anyway.

I've actually enjoyed the Jay-Z tracks played before Coldplay's entrance on this tour, and I might even enjoy seeing him supporting Coldplay at Wembley in September.;)

I love this song to bits!!. It's amazing live - a really euphoric track in every way.

Reminds me of U2 in places, and really builds to a crescendo. It's right up there for me with arm-waving anthems like "Don't You Forget About Me" (Simple Minds), "Sit Down" (James), "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (U2) and "The Whole of the Moon" (The Waterboys).

Can't really detect a great deal of difference between this mix and the original, but I don't really care, as I can't get enough of it!!

8. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground: Boy they sure don't like having their feet on he ground do they? An absolutely beautiful song, very reminiscent of Til Kingdom Come, I think it would have even fit on the album.

Yes, similar to "Till Kingdom Come" and very heartwarming. You can imagine people sitting round a campfire or a log fire in a cabin to this, drinking hot sherry or mulled wine!:D

What sounds like a colliery band kicks in towards the end too, giving it a "Christmasy" feel.;)

This was well worth the money IMO, and complements VLV very well indeed!:D

Get it. It's worth every penny or cent!!:D
