Well, Im glad you guys can play instruments... I havn't even mastered the triangle :bigcry:

My junior high band director was supposedly at one time the principal triangle player for a symphony orchestra or something.

Not that one would be proud doing that, but that reminded me of him.

I wonder what I you have to do to qualify as a good triangle player?

I don't see how you could determine that. Maybe his triangle sound sounded better? Or maybe he was consistent with where he hit it? (Because supposedly, there's a specific way you're supposed to hit the traingle. You're the percussionist, so plase tell me if I'm wrong...)

I don't know. I think it's silly. You sit there and play triangle. Where's the fun in that?

It's super fun children! Total workout, perfect timing is the key, you dont wanna get you *ding* in too soon :dozey:

well I think maybe it would have to do with being in the right place at the right time and being good at rhythm. Presumably he was already a percussionist.

Yes, he's a percussionist. He taught beginning percussion in middle school when we all started in the 6th grade, and I'd hear him play stuff from time to time.

I always enjoyed the tambourine and the snare! Two of my favorites.

I like timpani myself. And playing two-mallet is fun.

I've tried playing four-mallet before, and it was HARD.

There was always tons of variety and new things to try in perc!

Yeah, it's pretty hardcore stuff. I remember I had a period of time in the 8th grade when I was envious of the percussionists because they got to play all the cool stuff.

my teacher was pretty tough on us though. It was no picnic

Does that mean you were severely hampered??:P

^^ I'm pretty sure it wasn't. My junior high director was the same way, particularly with the percussionists. I'm sure it was a bit worth it, though. I'm sure it would've been to me.

^ WOW, Mark. :p
