The only ancestors I have outside the US were my great grandparents on my mother's side... The rest have lived here probably since the revolutionary war... I do have a tiny amount of indigenous american blood. The family on my mom's side came from Sweden and England either in the 19th century or early 20th

One of my mom's close friend's daughter is japanese, korean, italian and russian, it's pretty sick:P

And what Valerie said reminds me, of my art teacher he's from South Africa and his son is marrying a Japanese girl :nice:

i'm half english half martian.

Well I have Russian roots. My surname is Russian, but there are people in Greece, Turkey and Germany and France with my surname so Im not really sure where it is from. Thats from my dad's side, and he was born in Bosnia which is next to Croatia. And from my mum's side I'm totally Croatian. But Ive got the olive skin, the wide drank eyes, the Mediterranean look, Which I got from my dad. When I was a kid I was in Holland with my mum everyone thought I was adopted. Lots of people thought she is Irish. Pale skin and red hair.

im half Sri Lankan and half Lebanese

I think I might be English due to being Sri Lankan:shrug::D

used to be able to speak French,Arabic ,and Singhalese, now I can only speak a little of each :shame:

:Dthats it!!

That's a nice mix! You must be a real stunner. ;)

I'm Mexican from mah head 'til my feet. :( Nothing interesting.

Embrace it! :D Being Mexican is already great in itself.

I'm full on Vietnamese. Funny thing is that my parents don't look like your typical Vietnamese...my mom kind of looks Middle Eastern and my dad looks Mexican. And I came out looking....well.....odd.

^ yeah, "odd" is the right word to describe my looks, too. :dozey: meh.

I'm not of mixed race, really, but I constantly get asked if I am. My mom's from Ukraine (her parents, anyway), and my dad's parents are from England, so I technically shouldn't have any striking or ethnic looking features. However, I've been told by countless people that I look half Asian, especially when I'm not wearing my glasses, and apparently the other half of me looks like there could be Middle Eastern or Indian blood somewhere involved, according to quite a few people. I don't necessarily agree with what people say for the most part, but I definitely look vaguely ethnic, since I have dark, crazy hair, slightly almond-shaped dark eyes, a round face and other features often associated with people of Asian descent. People always want to know where I'm from or if I was adopted, since the rest of my family has red hair (well, my brother's is darkening now) and looks pretty WASPy.

 I wouldn't call you odd looking, Grace. :P You are really pretty.

I'm not of mixed ethnicity, though there must be some German blood in our family (from my dad's side).

Once a girl asked me if I lived in California because of the way I spoke my first language (Slovene). And no, I have absolutely no idea how a Californian Slovene would speak Slovene language.

ETA: And yes, I'd love it if my children spoke two languages fluently. :wacky:

^Well the r's wouldn't be so strong as in Slovene. And they would have problems reading... :D

My dad is from Jordan and my mum was born in Romania though my grandparents are from Hungary. So I speak Arabic, some Hungarian, little Romanian due to that mix hehe.

I feel slightly more Arabic than Hungarian really, as I've lived my whole life here in Jordan and I'm just in love with this little country :nice:

But I do have that foreigner vibe that my friends notice in my sometimes and I look a bit different. I'm not as dark-skinned as most of the people here and my hair is light brown and that is not that very common here.

^ yeah, "odd" is the right word to describe my looks, too. :dozey: meh.

I'm gonna join the "disagree" bandwagon too, G.

You're a wonderful person, not only in personality but in appearance too!

But you always knew I was your biggest fan :P

^ hahah. zip it.

but i've come to the point where i start to embrace the fact that i'm neither caucasian nor asian. or both. who knows?

i guess my kids will someday look funny, too. :laugh3:
