hi Gaby! is it 'cuz of Lent that you're going vegetarian for the next month?

that's cool, though! I support you 100% :)

Hey!

Yep, that's why I'm doing it.

One of these days I'm going to try to do the whole 'vegan' thing, but not just yet. I'd have to prepare myself for that.

I think I'm going to be eating lots 'o indian food this month.

There's no way you can go vegan, Gaby.

wow really? have you had Indian food before? this is sooo surprising! 'cuz earlier, you'd said you are a big carnivore! :D

i bet Chi town has good indian "desi" restaurants... 'cuz there's a big indian population there. when i was there last summer, my friend had taken me to this one in Shaumberg...i forgot the name...it was alright...middle of the road...the name's on the tip of my tongue but just can't recall it now! :/

Yeah, I'm not a huge meat lover, but I do like to have my chicken every once in a while. And a steak cooked well is irresitable. Chicago does have very good restaurants. There's this one area, or actually, this one street (Devon I think) that has tons of indian places.. viceroy and shera punjab (sp?) are the ones i know best. Their food is really good. And I love that indian bread! The only thing that I don't really like is when it's too hot, but then that's why I drink mango lasse...

You're already so skinny. You go vegan, you'll disappear.

I know, I was really contemplating the whole vegetarian thing already.. I usually end up eating a lot of cheese and that's not really good for you either..

But I won't disappear. I'll still be eating sweets!

hahaha that's not fair...i'm vegetarian and look at me...i am FAT! :stunned: :dozey:

and yep...Devon Ave. north of downtown...also called Gandhi Ave., i think. i didn't get to go there while i was in your town :(

sher-e Punjab...wow...sounds excellent north indian food! :-) you must refer to those flat-breads... naan, chapati, puri, etc...

*mouthwatering*

mango lasse sounds good...though my experience at most places is that they use essence rather than actual mango...indian mangos, otherwise, are the best thing in fruit one can have...anywhere in the world! :smug:

aww.. you're not fat!

and yes, i think it is called gandhi ave..

naan!! love it! i heard that the stuff they sell here isn't the real stuff! but i like it anyways!!

mexican mangos are good too :D

yep...we get really good 'Marathon' Mexican mangoes...though if you don't choose right, some of them have those pesky fibers in the 'meaty' part... :D

no, naans are pretty good the way they have 'em here. i'd say most good indian restaurants have 'authentic' indian food :smug: :)
